If we were the 2 in a bracket with Duke or Ohio State or someone like that as the 1 seed, I'd probably take it if it meant playing in Saint Louis.

The location of the regionals is harped on a lot by the media, but the difference is quite negligible either way.

MU could wind up in the West region, but end up facing far easier teams than they would in the Midwest region. It really all depends on the draw (and even then, it never quite goes as you expect).

LMAO here we go again.

This is a bad look for you.

Failures? I'm pretty sure KU has won the tournament three more times than most (and more FFs and wins than nearly all).

There's nothing wrong with calling out the NCAA tournament for what it is. Even the best teams in any given year only have a small chance of winning it due to the format.

No, but they do for winning six straight elimination games over a three week period in March, regardless of how good or bad you did in the previous four months.

We should probably just take the top 4 teams from the polls, and that's our Final Four.

I'm trying to be respectful, but damnit... you're being ****ing stupid.

You'd almost certainly get a more deserving champion each year that way (rather than mediocre teams like 2011 UConn winning it all). You know, if that's what you actually want out of a champion.

No, I'm afraid you're just being obtuse.

No, I'm afraid you're just being obtuse.

Mizzou would make that Final Four, Kansas would not.

I still think it's amazingly stupid. But go on, keep doing your thing. Whatever.

What the hell does last year have to do with anything? KU is not a NCAA tournament failure over its history in any way.

Look at what Kansas did last year. They played a 16 seed, a 9 seed, a 12 seed, and an 11 seed. How in the **** did that team not make the Final Four?

I swear to God that I believe that Self would be getting a ton of heat from Kansas fans if Davidson had beat them in 2007.

I like to think I'm enough of a level-headed KU fan to say....yes, I wouldnt be very happy with Self these days if Davidson beat us in '07.

If that were the case, Self would be to NCAA BB....what Marty was to the chiefs.

And I hate admitting that......cause it pretty much makes me a spoiled KU fan.

Call the tourney a crapshoot.....throw in upsets.....either way, there's no way in hell KU should have come up short of the final four last year.

Thing is......this year's team is over-achieving....and in a big way. So even if we bow out in 2nd round or sweet sixteen.....it wont shock me, nor will I be pissed or consider it an under-achieving year.

Fact is, if KU finishes 1st or 2nd in the big 12 this year....it may just be Self's best coaching of his career.

And? You'd still have four great, deserving teams in the Final Four that way. That's a certainty that you won't have with the upcoming tournament.

What's amazingly stupid is thinking a 64+ team, three week, elimination tournament isn't simply a luck-filled crapshoot. Yeah, it's exciting, but is it the best way to award deserving teams for their great regular seasons? Of course not. It places a precedence on simply getting hot over a three week stretch.

KcMizzou 02-12-2012 12:50 AM

You should make a poll.... "Should we ditch March Madness, and end the college basketball like they do in football?"

I believe you're the one who brought up KU in a post that had absolutely nothing to do with them. Obsessed...as usual.
