Heck, this year, two of the Chiefs biggest weapons on offense went down.
And, he STILL has numbers this year that project to be better than most of Palmers seasons. Not the yards, but the passer rating, TD's, Int's, average per pass and percentage of passes downfield all on par with Carson.
Time will tell.... but don't get it twisted about what Palmer is.

Another illustration of the fact that stats mean jack.
Palmer hasn't been nearly the player since his knee got blown up that he was before, but if you told me I could trade Cassel for Palmer straight up, I wouldn't even give it a second thought before making that trade.
Palmer isn't good.
Cassel blows chunks.

But his point is still sound.
You give a player a big contract, and you have to give him a minimum of three years before you move on.
That's three years of wasted time that holds your team back.
