Yeah, for good reason. Abrams got out when he realized his jaw-dropping twists! and story arcs were going to be impossible to thematically conclude. This is a pattern that has repeated itself in many of Abrams' theatrical productions.

JJ Abrams had almost zero involvement with LOST after he shot the pilot.

This is untrue.

While he wasn't involved in the weekly script meetings, he did produce the show and was involved.

Sure he was a producer. But that was mostly in name only. JJ has said multiple times that he was too busy to deal with the show in any real sense. That's why Carlton was brought in to help Damon run the show. About half way through season one, JJ was done contributing or even advising in any practical sense with the exception of an episode or two in Season Three.

Quote:

Early in Season 1, Abrams was busy with producing and directing Mission: Impossible III. When Damon Lindelof was considering quitting Lost due to the sudden burden, Carlton Cuse talked him out of leaving and joined the show's staff as an executive producer. From this point on, Abrams stopped being directly involved with the show.
Quote:

At the 2009 Hawaii International Film Festival, Lindelof stated that Abrams watches Lost as a fan, seeing the episodes for the first time as they air, and has "expressed an interest and curiosity in how the show is going to end."

Damon and Carlton threw out the show bible that JJ helped create and took the show in their own direction.

Whoa. And I just talked to the head of Disney Animation this weekend and heard nothing of the sort.

If this is true, I might be sucked back in...

The only thing that gives me pause is the date (week and a half ago...). Today was the first I'd heard anything about it.

And for clarification on my part, I didn't even think to ask about Star Wars in particular.

Saoirse Ronan auditioned for a part... but as she says, so has everyone else.

Saoirse Ronan confirms she has thrown her hat in the ring for a part

By Joe Michalczuk, Arts And Entertainment Reporter

Saoirse Ronan has confirmed to Sky News she has read for a part in the new Star Wars film.

The 19-year-old Irish actress, whose new film How I Live Now opens this week, has confirmed rumours that she has auditioned for a role - before modestly adding "so has everyone".

Names linked with the JJ Abrams film read like a who’s who in Hollywood - with Benedict Cumberbatch, Ryan Gosling, Leonardo DiCaprio and Simon Pegg all mentioned in the press over recent months.

The original trio of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are also heavily tipped to reprise their roles in the Star Wars galaxy.

As with any JJ Abrams film, plot details are almost non-existent, but it’s thought Saoirse Ronan could have auditioned for the part of Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter.

When questioned on the subject of the film by Sky News - the Atonement star said bosses would "chop off her head with a light-sabre" if she revealed any more.

Star Wars Episode VII begins shooting in England next year - with a summer 2015 release date penciled in.

Man, Daniel Day Lewis as Joruus C'baoth would KILL.

Too bad it'll never happen.

He'll probably be a Jedi Master, one of Luke's crew.
