Yeah, and I've also been through the Focus Seminar with him as one of the instructors.

He had some major depression from not making it to the majors and all of his friends mooching... And the drugs and booze. He was super close to suicide back in the day. Especially after watching all of those 100+ loss seasons.

He got cleaned up, met his awesome future wife, got married and now they have four kids. They are great people.

I always text him after games when he says something funny to bust on Hud's balls.

I bought his book last summer and read it from cover to cover in two or three days IIRC. Definitely a positive aspect for anyone going through that sort of thing. Nice to hear that he is still doing as well as the note he ended his book on.

Yep. He talked in his book about coming in with a target on his back regardless of his commentating skills being good or not. He felt as if there was nothing he could do right in the booth with the fans simply because of the man he replaced.

White sucked. Ryan's analysis is great and he brings a lot of explanations I never knew. He's also funny. He's great.
