This will be my first purchase of a semi pistol. I love sigs, and love that my department issued one. But I'm not going to turn around and buy the exact thing I have now to carry.

Why not go with a Glock, or a S&W M&P series pistol?

I understand, the PD did set you up with a nice side arm and going with the .40 makes a lot of sense, ammo is cheap, good stopping power, not nearly as much kick as a .45, good luck on finding another gun the good news is theres lots to choose from. :D

My duty weapon is a M&P 40 and I love it.

I haven't fired a glock yet I liked. The weight feels off to me, or something. I want to buy one gun. One that I like, and can use for a few different scenarios. I'd like buy a 1911, I'd like to buy a .45 and I'd like to be able to use it on and off duty. The new agent seems to fit all those bills, as long as I'm not losing on function and performance.

If I can't get that all in one buy, I'll gladly look more to the smith, I'd was actually looking that way before I saw an ad for the new agent.

That is sex, dude.

Daniel Defense and LaRue is where it's at for AR15's.

I'm so jealous right now.

Munson 01-20-2012 11:38 PM

You've got good taste in AR15's.

Any of you have a suppressor in Missouri? What was that process like?

I know its up there in price but for a good off duty carry or even back up carry I'd rather spend a little more. Thing is, is it worth the time to go rent one, or should I just chalk it up to another too short of a barrel 45 with the colt price tag?

I started looking at the SA EMP 9 a little recently. If you want a 1911 style, that you could carry, and if you're concerned about the "too short of a barrel 45" I would consider this. That is if you can get past the whole "a 1911 has to be a .45."

I was a little sticker shocked though when I actually looked for the price, it will run over a grand most likely, but since it's a Springfield you will get a lot of gear with it.

Anyone have any shooting experience with this one?

When my AR10 is finished I'll post some pics of it. It looks just like an AR15 (like the LaRue in the above pics) but shoots a .308 cartridge. I'm going with a 20" barrel so if I have to hunt with it, I can, it will be my SHTF rifle. I have a Chinese SKS with a synthetic stock as my back up SHTF rifle but damn, it's a heavy sumbitch...

Yah, I'll try and save weight were I can, going with a skeleton stock on the back, I'm not going to mount alot of extra crap on it like a big scope, I don't even think I'll mount a scope on it, at least not right away. I want it to be as light as possible, very clean looking rifle, no junk on it.

I think its just a $200.00 dollar tax stamp. In Omaha you have to register the Can with the Police department. But out side the county limits you dont. I would think your local sheriffs department would be able to answer any question you have. Thats who I would ask.
