That's nonsense. He'd be a stud pitcher in the AL too. The AL isn't superior to the NL.

A beanball is by definition intentional, so it kind of does. It's kind of the key part of it.

"Beanball" is a colloquialism used in baseball, for a ball thrown at an opposing player with the intention of striking him such as to cause harm, often connoting a throw at the player's head (or "bean" in old-fashioned slang).[1]

Volquez's HBP should've been the end of it, but Sanchez chose to continue the conflict.
So if the Jays threw at Lorenzo Cain out of the blue to start a game because the Royals accidentally hit a few guys the day before, you seriously don't think the Royals retaliate in that spot? Come on, now. LMAO

You've been on point throughout this thread, but this is bullshit. The point that was made is that guys get hit, and when others get hit as an eye for an eye, other teams don't flip the **** out.

You're referencing Lackey hitting Kipnis after Holliday got hit. Yeah, that stuff happens, but the difference is that other teams don't completely lose their shit.

Moustakas again showed tonight why people have the perception of the Royals that they do--Syndegaard clearly wanted to send a message to Escobar (the pitch wasn't really all that close to him, though), and I can understand him telling him to **** off once. But he kept at it for three ****ing innings.

I will give Ventura props though for not going headhunting at Wright after it happened.

Yeah, I was more referring the the Oakland and Chicago incidents. Shit hurt us more than anyone as Ventura hasn't been the same since.

Blue Jays and Royals are just going to get into it. They both have NBA type swag and it's just gonna happen. I would bet money something goes down between the 2 next year now that there is playoff history on top of it

Those were fun games. It's too bad they don't play a more balanced schedule in MLB so could have more games against each other. It definitely would have been beneficial for me back when I lived in Lawrence/KC.

Personally, I was hoping for a bench clearing whoop ass.

The New York media and the Mets forums have been calling for this all week, so it was no surprise.

Ned Yost was and is too big of a ****ing pussy to retaliate.

If a Cubs pitcher had said that and then did the same thing to Carp. We would have retaliated with a fastball in the ribs.

I never understood where you were coming from before, and I still don't know. You didn't watch these games. Josh Donaldson was the one losing his shit every AB. Volquez threw him a changeup up and in the next time up, and he flipped out. From there, the rest of it was inevitable. Donaldson was looking for a fight. Him and Bautista are always looking for something to be angry about.

If you look up the definition of a pussy on Wikipedia, a picture of Ned Yost appears

:spock:

The Royals have been in more brawls and dustups than any team in baseball. You can say a lot of things about them, but I don't think that Yost is too much of a pussy to retaliate, otherwise you wouldn't have had the multiple incidents that you've had this year.

Say Herrera earholes Cespedes once the game is out of hand. Do you really want your second best reliever suspended (b/c they'd hear that appeal right away) for possibly the 6th and 7th games of the WS?

If a guy is crowding the plate, you back him off. That's baseball. What you don't do is intentionally throw at someone's head (unless it's a Chase Utley situation). I would have had no problems with Ventura giving Wright a purpose pitch in the first, but you don't need to start clogging the bases, either.

After he got beaned, I actually think Donaldson was just looking to get a pitcher ejected (whether it be Volquez or Madson) to help the team.
