I have Kai Forbath and Matt Bryant on my team and the system seems to think Bryant is my best option. Why? Forbath was the best kicker in football last year... by quite a large margin actually. Is it because he didn't start until October?

After reviewing the code, it looks like for FG kickers I just take the first kicker I find in the database. For kickoffs, puters and returners I do take the best performing player, but for FG kickers it doesn't look like I coded that evaluation. I'll probably address it by allowing people to explicitly pick their special teams players.

Also, just curious if your system takes into account kickoff lengths? I've noticed I'm getting some pretty good kickoffs from Z.

Yes.

Wasn't Blair Walsh the best kicker in football last year?

OK, I will agree that none of those teams have stellar WR corps, but you're seriously going to say that my defensive statistics are inflated when, at worst, every QB I've played is top 15 in the NFL?

Russell Wilson and RGIII are terrible sandbox QBs so far, against everyone for the most part.

I'll give you some respect if your defense shows up against Ventura. Romo, Vincent Jackson and Ray Rice will test you.

Ventura also has a pretty good defense.

He missed three kicks. I'm guessing he misses one more this year for you, if the sim is true.

Awesome. If we could pick our own kickoff guy that would be great too...my punter was a slightly better kickoff guy than Z.

I'm pretty impressed that your sim accurately spits out Greg Z's FG percentage under 50 yards...because most of his misses were over 50 yards.

The next 2 will be a good test for sure. Ventura and Vegas are both good teams, and they're both division games.

Makes sense why Forbath was doing kickoffs for me but Bryant was kicking FGs.

So for now, if I want Forbath kicking I need to get rid of Bryant? Anyone want a kicker? :D

Forbath = 94.4%
Walsh = 92.1%

Forbath only had 1 miss all year. Of course he didn't start until mid October so Walsh kicked a shit ton more and was better at PATS (somehow Forbath missed one of those)

The Strippers have the worst offense in the league. I expect your defense to annihilate that offense, and anything less will result in mocking.

Week 4 lineups and game planning are ready. I tried one last time to update the availability table. I'm sure it's still not perfect.

Sims on Tuesday night.

I just lost at least 3+ players that weren't hurt last year. Somewhat sucky players but still... well Forbath doesn't suck and is now unavailable to me but he wasn't kicking anyway though.

I lost my RT and am now playing Jake Long at RT... how much of a penalty is it for an LT to play RT?

cdcox 07-14-2013 08:13 PM

I might regret saying this, but let me know who they are and I'll put them back if justified.

There's something up with my player availability too. Chris Givens. He's been zeroed out for the whole year, and he plays 15 games.

Yeah, he was a manual fix last time. I forgot to do him manually on the rerun. I'll add him back.
