I hope this spring gives them just the right amount of swagger to carry into the regular season.

i've been whipping the shit out of everyone on MLB the Show, with the Royals. And can do so without having to adjust my sliders all over the place to help myself.

In years past, the R's were so bad I HAD to adjust sliders.

This is a good sign.

Just took the over in Vegas.

Well FML. Promotion interview on 4/1 at 3:30. I took the day off to drink and watch via Xbox. Now I'll be sober and anxious, the opposite of what opening day should be like.

Easy money. How much if you don't mind? I am going to be doing the same but am just trying to decide what that number will be.

I was kidding based on the MLB The Show scouting report. I don't bet Royals or Chiefs, if I did I'd take the under just to hedge.

Caught Starling and Mondesi taking BP today in Surprise.

I went to practice Saturday and saw all the MLB guys take some BP. It was strikingly different how the ball came off Butler's bat compared to the others. Getting to the game again tonight vs the Dodgers, can't wait.

I'll be there tonight, we're in 113. Flying back to KC tomorrow.

Yeah, this spring has shown a few signs of worry:

1. Already tweaking the lineup to deal with Hosmer.
2. Frenchy with all out Frenchy suck. This dude must play at replacement level for the team to have a chance.

Has Yost been moving Hosmer around the lineup again? I hadn't really noticed that (don't look at box scores from spring that closely).

If you think he's your 3 hitter, stick him in the 3 spot and let it happen.

With Butler behind him and a strong leadoff hitter in front of him, it might be where he's best suited for success.

Frenchy has been flat-out awful again. I was figuring he'd probably be replacement level again this year, but it doesn't look promising.

Maybe he should throw Kevin Seitzer and Billy Butler under the bus again. That will get him back on track...

Hosmer is now at 6, and Yost gave a bullshit, convoluted justification for the move. And now the problem will be when Butler hits into a few DPs early in the year, which will definitely happen since he hits so many balls hard, Yost will hyper-react and want to move him back to the 4 spot.

If Hosmer doesn't step forward, I have a hard time seeing this team get to where it wants/needs to go.

KCUnited 03-25-2013 01:48 PM

Hosmer back in the lineup today batting 6th.

Agreed. Hosmer must hit for this team to REALLY succeed.

Yost is so inconsistent with his lineup shuffling, though, I'm sure it won't help. The way he was willing to move EVERYONE but Jeff Francoeur early last season (who stubbornly was left in the crucial 5 spot in the lineup for WAY too long)...
