OK good. I know for a fact my coals weren't hot enough last time.

If I'm having trouble getting the coals going I bust out the Stihl gas blower and hit them with that on idle, you could also take care of those pesky grass clippings. Two birds, one stone.

At temps the grill is getting, all bacteria will be dead in a matter of moments.

And if you're leaving it on the entire time while the coals are getting hot, you're effectively shortening the life of your grates.
