CJ gets 70% of the carries with my FB getting a gimme carry here and there (hopefully on 3rd and short packages only).

The running game has been substandard, but not miserable. The problem really has been penalties - loads and loads and LOADS of penalties. And then they're just not connecting on third down - ever. It makes no sense that a team with this kind of firepower should be striking out on 80% of their 3rd down attempts.

The team is just way the hell out of sync.

I bet some of your players are having self-esteem issues. Have you tried giving them positive reinforcement?

Gostkowski isn't the best FG killer out there. He's misses some every year... Career FG % of 84.2%. Not the best by any means.

In 2012 he made 29 out of 35.

In Sandbox he's 0 for 3 one of those being a 35 yrd attempt.

This simulation seems to be very onesided in the way it's sims things. Receiver either has HUGE game or nothing. Team doesn't get a sack for 2 games... Then gets 5 in the next game. wtf? it's just so ... wacky.

Maybe it was windy.

Is that why my shitty receiver has gone off on the league? :p

I'm guessing you were just unlucky enough to have a bunch of penalty prone linemen.

Do you have access to PFF?

Your coaching has elevated his self-esteem. Do you have the "raise self-esteem" check box checked? It's somewhere in the game planning menu, I think.

I seem to have lost C Ryan Cook and CB Vontae Davis.

I do.

I looked, they're really not that bad; in fact they're pretty good. Both of my tackles are plus penalty players, as are Sullivan and Lance Louis. None of my guys play out of position. Lichtensteiger's a bit penalty prone, but that doesn't explain the other 4 guys committing as many as they have.

And like I said, I've had shit like 3 delay of game penalties from Aaron Rodgers in a single home game.

This last game really did just flat piss me off but there's no sense in bitching about it. The penalties were wildly disproportionate (10/110 vs. 3/25) and a bunch of them were on guys that are not penalty prone. On what was a huge drive, I get holding on Sullivan, holding on Costanzo and a false start on Dez Bryant (I think that's his 4th false start this year...as a ****ing WR. Find me a WR w/ 4 false start penalties in the NFL last year); 25 yards in penalties in a drive that stalled on High Points 41. On High Point's first TD drive I had 5 penalties called against me, 2 of which were declined.

In 3 weeks I've had 26 penalties accepted against me vs. eight by my opponents. Really? Sorry, but there's no way that makes any sense. My guys are not that penalty prone and my team has enough skill on it that it would logically force penalties to be called in their favor. My DEs are penalty neutral, my DTs are penalty plus yet every game my DL is good for 3 personal fouls. Pollards had some penalties against him but I'm fine with those; I knew what that guy was (same with DRC). Brown's below average but he's getting killed and that doesn't explain Jackson, who's another plus penalty player that's good for a flag every game.

I'll live, there's no money on the line. At the same time, it's getting damn frustrating watching a team that should be at the very worst neutral (and I don't even buy that) having 3 times the penalties go against them than for them.

I hope they get lupus, truth be told.

I fear they know this.

We got in your guys heads... We talk alot of shit.

Hammock Parties 07-15-2013 01:10 PM

I wonder if Cdcox's sim accounts for penalties drawn by opposing players. Surely not.

DJ's left nut 07-15-2013 01:21 PM

I'm seriously shaking my head right now.

Rodgers - 4 penalties against all year - 3 by week 3.
Brown - 9 penalties at CB all year - 4 by week 3.
Bryant - 4 penalties against all year - 4 !@#$ing false starts by week 3.
Bernard "headhunter" Pollard - 5 penalties against all year (only 3 PFs); 3 personal fouls by week 3.
Davis - 5 penalties against all year - 2 by week 3.
McCoy - 3 penalties all year, 2 by week 3.
Jones - 3 total penalties all year, 2 personal fouls by week 3.

And then things like Harvin already having more penalties against him than he had all last year. I'm just hoping it evens out at some point because I'm taking it in the shorts right now on penalties and there is really no justification for it. I know it's not a 1 for 1 thing, but we're talking penalty rates for half my starters that are 2-5 times worse than their real life performances. This isn't a penalty prone team and there is no rhyme or reason to when/why they're occurring. If it's little more than small sample sizes at work, so be it, but right now it's really irritating.
