The Chiefs did not extend Tyson Jackson's contract, according to NFLPA records. Did take a pay cut from >$14M to $4.2M (guaranteed). Adam Teicher@adamteicher Jackson basically gave $10 mil back to Chiefs and got nothing in return. Don't see that often. Must not have liked his free-agent prospects Mike Garafolo@MikeGarafolo No extension for Chiefs DE Tyson Jackson, just a pay cut from $14.72 million to $4.2 million. |

pretty sure he, TJax got all or most of his inflated rookie contract so the money he gave back was the stupid extra deals Pioli was gifting people with silly contract figures

Chiefs will have another 1m vs the cap I counted Jackson at 5.2m but his cap number is 4.2. Tyson Jackon can make up to $5.2 million Posted by Mike Florio on March 7, 2013, 12:58 PM EST Tyson AP Chiefs defensive lineman Tyson Jackson, the third overall pick in the 2009 draft, was due to earn a base salary of $14.72 million in 2013. And he had no better chance than the rest of us to make that much money. Jackson recently re-did his deal to stay in Kansas City. The initial reports of a new contract omitted the details. Here they are, per a league source with knowledge of the contract. Jackson is due to earn a base salary of $4.2 million. Of that amount, $4 million is fully guaranteed for skill, injury, and salary cap. The one-year deal also includes a $500,000 workout bonus, and an incentive that will pay another $500,000 if he participates in at least 50 percent of the snaps on defense. So he can make up to $5.2 million. Which is a lot less than $14.72 million. Still, most of the rest of us would take it. |
Overthecap has us at around 111 million before Cassel's cut and the Smith trade.
We will have around 10 million at the start of FA if Cassel is the only one cut. |

If we cut Studebaker, we should have 15-16 million to spend. If we extend Albert, that could raise that available $ by a few more. Lets pray that they use that money to fill holes so that it frees up the draft. |

@ChiefsOsFan Chiefs have an estimated $111M in cap right now, about $12M under |
After Cassel gets cut we are looking at 17.6m under
|
Almost 20 under if we cut Studebaker?
