Says the Royal fan
|
The Chiefs have made the playoffs the last 20 years and won divison titles. They made the playoffs a few years ago and were in first place half way through the season the next and fans still wanted them to rebuild. If it were the Royals you idiots would be saying they were a world series contender.

Atleast the Chiefs stay in the country to hire shitty coaches too

Trey Hillman is from Texas... I guess it is a whole 'nuther country. Him coaching in Japan means nothing. But admittedly was a dumb hirer. I love the Chiefs, so why the f**K would any lame brain put the two against each other? I don't usually get involved with trolls but this is f**king reeruned. The case with the Chiefs is different. The NFL is different.

The idea that Royals fans shouldn't spend any money on the team as a sort of protest is actually an idea that can be argued successfully, by someone more nuanced than yourself of course. |

Eh, I don't like one sport over the other. They're different sports, different seasons. But yeah if playoff appearances are your measure of success, then the Chiefs have been more successful, they have a couple playoff appearances in the last 12-13 years.
It's hard to say, over most of our lifetimes, the Royals were really good then had a long playoff drought, and then have been bad since 96 or so. And the Chiefs had a long playoff drought then became pretty good, and then really haven't been contenders for the last 12 years or so. Had one good year in 03, and that team had a horrible defense. And that's the last time the Royals had a good team. It's all perspective. I think it's just hard to get excited because most of the Chiefs playoff appearances have ended in truly devastating fashion. Not just losing a close game, no first downs, no punts, missed FG's, epic disasters. It's obviously easier to have hope for the Chiefs because they play in a more level league, as long as they don't blow up the salary cap next year. And more teams make the playoffs in football. |
I don't agree, it doesn't make a difference. I enjoy the watching the Royals/Chiefs in person. I buy tickets because I enjoy the experience. It isn't always about winning, and losing. Winning would be great, but even if the Royals never do make the playoffs the rest of my life I will still enjoy watching baseball. I enjoy the quest as much as anything. When KU won the title that was great, but it didn't alter my life or fandom any way.
