I am stunned that Adrian Jones is still in the NFL.

Warpath, is it your contention that penalties is the complete and absolute measure of the discipline of a football team?

What about route running discipline? What about discipline with blocking assignments? What about filling lanes and keeping assignments?

Anyone who has played the game knows discipline is more than penalty stats.

No, that's not my contention at all.

But the numbers you posted are ridiculously skewed, and IMO, show nothing resembling improvement when it comes to discipline.

You're trying to show that the OL is more disciplined because they gave up more sacks, but don't take into consideration that the immobile Damon Huard was playing in the first two games (after Croyle's injury) and then the 3rd string Thigpen in the 3rd game.

The same argument can be made for the INT stats. They are horribly skewed.

Personally, I think this OL is WORSE than last year, and I have no idea how anyone can try to claim that this team ins more disciplined regardless of how you would like to define it.

Good post.

I'm not contending the OL is more disciplined because they have given up fewer sacks. I am contending that the coaching is better and it shows on the field. The example about sacks was to offset you contention that the penalty stats were proof positive that the team is not more disciplined.
