They rely on evidence and repeatable results before forming opinions. They openly admit they are speaking to what they know now and the data available to them. They also quickly qualify their stances with the fact we know enough to know how little we know.

On a side note Dawkins and Daniel Dennett proposed they should be called "brights" the proposal made fellow "Horseman" Hitchens cringe. In the event you do not know Hitchens, Dennett, Dawkins and Harris were known as the four horsemen and also the new atheists. There is no room for arrogance in this conversation. Those who claim "to know" the answers are the first to be dismissed by me~

Well alrighty then. Like i said I have never seen anything unusual so am I dismissed by you now?

My dad saw something like this once. He was a huge skeptic as well until then.

I guarantee humanity will have conquered the problem of the vastness of space in order to traverse it within 200 years, and probably a lot less. Theoretical data for it already exists.

Why people think it's such an obstacle for a species that could be hundreds or thousands of years ahead of us baffles me.

It's the same kind of people who laughed at Columbus.

At the rate of evolution of our technology you may be right.
