doesn't matter for watch dogs, its a poorly optimized POS.
Ultra graphics at 1080p (which still don't have reflections and shadows) wouldn't even reach 60 on a dual titan machine :/ I just downloaded last night, but will see what I can pull off with my 3930k+780 tonight |
so much for these next gen consoles making easier, higher quality ports to the PC. :(

UBISoft is just bad at coding.

Rumors are coming out that all the problems came from Ubisoft Montreal, who basically took the base game that was shown at e3 2012, and ****ed it up bigtime. Cutting corners everywhere they could to keep the budget as low as possible.
Im still gonna play it tonight~ |
I picked up "How 2 Survive" for four bucks over the weekend.....kind of addicting. Diablo-style perspective...but with zombies. Big emphasis on survival (you gotta have water, food, sleep).
Playing it on its hardest setting, and its pretty challenging (and kind of addictive). Does have Co-op mode, which i havent played yet.....but i like what ive seen so far. Not bad for four bucks! |

I saw someone on youtube who had a 7950 only get 25-30 fps on medium. They're supposedly patching it soon. |
i was running on ultra with txaa x4 and getting 20-30 fps

From what I'm gathering from my own experience and from others, it's the textures that's ****ing things up.
If I crank the textures settings up from Medium, it goes from choppy while in a car to barely playable the more you scale it up. I can crank up the resolution and AA just fine though. Wonderful code, Ubisoft. |
Is anyone getting The Forest? It's single player survival horror.

I have a question about Steam (which I don't use and don't really know anything about).
My son is having problems with his laptop. Since we are going to have to restore the hard drive back to factory, I am backing up his files. He wants to try to save his game files so I am backing up most of those in hopes that he can restore his game progress after he re-installs the programs. Anyway - one of the folders he wanted backed up is the Steam folder under Program Files (x86). When I went to copy this over to our backup, the folder is 150 GB! I am pretty sure he hasn't bought that many games (he's in college and is broke). What is making the folder so big? I looked around in it and didn't see anything obvious. Is it anything to worry about or is it just the nature of the beast? |
That's where all the games are stored.
Either back them up, or re-download them when the computer is fresh. I would re-download if I were you. |
