But they won't justify his draft position if he winds up with 300 receiving yards. |

McCluster looks like a gimmick player on offense right. Lets get him a carry here and there and watch him pick up a first down! Let's throw him a screen pass and let him gain 12 yards! How about something like this? <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5Ys7MMWkqgY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5Ys7MMWkqgY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> |
Not happening with Matt Cassel.

[QUOTE=GoChiefs;6976384]It's the truth.
McCluster looks like a gimmick player on offense right. Lets get him a carry here and there and watch him pick up a first down! Let's throw him a screen pass and let him gain 12 yards! How about something like this? Only Chiefs fans can label a guy a bust because he hasn't scored a 50 yard TD in preseason. You are and idiot. |

The only commentary is that he had a disappointing preseason. Kenny Britt had 5 catches for 89 yards and a TD in his first preseason game. If McCluster had done that, wow... |
So you post pictures proving that our players don't go deep on plays because cassel sucks....and now you're blaming mccluster for not making plays down the field? You can't have it both ways.

Anyone who knows Charlie Weis knows that the role McCluster would play is anything but a gimmick. Just like I railed on people for criticizing the Chiefs because Jimmy Graham was supposed to somehow be better for them because he puts up a sexier stat line. In most years, Kevin Faulk averaged about 500-600 all purpose yards, but most Pats fans will tell you he was a critical piece to their offense. Faulk, like McCluster, isn't a perfect fit for a lot of offenses, but they're both great fits for a Weis-style offense. |

Like it or not that's progress and we're better at the start of this season than we were a year ago. |

Now he's Kevin Faulk? http://www.roughlydrafted.com/wp-con...pectations.jpg |

Charlie Weis doesn't work that way. When he was in New England, Troy Brown put up 1,000+ yards once. That's it. Weis is a guy who likes to spread the field, he LOVES the screen game, and he loves guys with versatility a lot more than he likes guys without. That's why two players he really loved were Daniel Graham and Kevin Faulk, two guys who were anything but spectacular on the stat sheet. It's because Weis likes to run multiple types of plays from the same exact formation and a guy like Graham, for example, can be extremely productive as a blocker in the run game or as a receiver in the passing game. McCluster isn't Kevin Faulk. But when you're talking Charlie Weis, you get why he's important. And by the way, even if he was Kevin Faulk, you're a moron if you think that's a low expectation to set and most Pats fans would tell you the same. |

17 yards. Of course that's as far as our quarterback can throw it. |
I guess you missed hiss kick returns and the plays that got called back for stupid penalties.
Yeah I suppose you're right Clay because a rookies longest play in preseason is only 17 yards we know he won't have anything longer than that in the regular season!!!!!! Would you care to place a wager on that? |
