This is disappointing news.

monkey see monkey do.

No QB ever learned anything from Cassel. Palko did many things that Cassel didn't know how to. He just doesn't have an NFL arm.

Orton misses two games because of a finger??? Wat a puss. Favre used to play with two broken legs and never missed a start.

That was Haley excuse not to start him.

Whatever, he wasn't even taking snaps from center earlier this week.

At least Orton can put the ball downfield...

Anyone who says this has never thrown a ball before in their life. It has nothing to do with playing through pain. Throwing a ball on a dislocated finger isn't painful. It's just very physically difficult to do.

Derp derp I'm a moron.....
LEGS do not effect your THROWING ability (or not as much)
Plus, Farve's an idiot.

chiefzilla1501 12-16-2011 05:23 PM

I've never seen so much hype around a 5th round QB.

There are plenty of good reasons for Orton to start. 1) Looking like a trainwreck in 2012... that's going to hurt our chances to get free agents this offseason, especially our own (Carr and Bowe -- two HUGE free agent signings). 2) whether people acknowledge it's important or not, selling tickets is a vital piece to giving our team enough money and getting blown out the last few games screws our chances to sell season tickets in 2012. 3) Sorry, but I believe if Orton pieces together a few solid games, that is the only way Cassel can fall out of favor.

Where do you think you get throwing power from?

Brett Farve didn't throw far enough to need throwing power when he was injured... He threw short slants and down checks.

It has EVERYTHING to do with playing through pain.

He can throw the ball just fine, but taking a snap under center hurts like a bitch.
