Danica is your favorite driver?

Keep your eye on Johanna Long, who competed in the Truck Series and moved to Nationwide full-time this season. NASCAR reporters suggest she can succeed against men -- But, will she ever get to drive great equipment. Long is 19 years old.

Long got caught up in a late wreck that involved 19 cars in Daytona on Saturday.

This is to be a hell of a year for wrecks if they don't figure some things out...

I've read that Long will drive in the 2012 and 2013 Nationwide Series. The team is owned by a female owner.

I think Long did a good job pushing and drafting in Daytona. But it didn't work that way for Danica.

Just my opinion

The numbers so far during the NASCAR portion of Daytona Speedweeks are staggering.

• Budweiser Shootout — 75 laps, 21 cars involved in accidents.

• Gatorade Duel No. 1 — 60 laps, seven cars wrecked.

• NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race — 109 laps, 28 trucks wrecked.

• *Drive4COPD 300 Nationwide Series - 120 laps, 37 cars wrecked.

Add it all up and there have been *93 vehicles wrecked in *424 laps run in the four NASCAR Speedweeks races contested to date — and that doesn’t include several incidents during the various practice sessions. Only in Duel No. 2, which went green the entire distance, was carnage avoided.

*Only six of 43 cars made it unscathed to the finish line of the Nationwide Series opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Anyone know what the weather is doing?

It's cloudy and 48 degrees in KC.

20% chance of rain at Daytona tonight

It's clearing up, might get hit durin the race., but will quickly pass.


7 est is still a go.

While it may quickly pass, it will still take forever to dry the track. And if it comes past the halfway mark they won't hesitate to call it.

If this ends up being a hit, I think we'll see Monday Night Racin' a lot more often, and very soon.

And no, I didn't steal that idea from Kornheiser.

It'll just mist if that, they won't call it tonight.
