We would win the division with Orton.

Shit, I'd bet money we would win the division with Stanzi.

However, we have seen what our QB can do.

There is a reason

This is hilarious. We are imagining a hypothetical situation where Matt Cassel wins a game scoring 9 points. I thought Royals fans were delusional.

When Peyton Manning changes his tampon it travels further in the air than the average Palko pass...

ROFL

Hey atleast Palko can throw a hail mary.

There is no reason to say Cassel would have beat Pittsburgh when he proved the previous 2 games he can't defeat the blitz. This is more made up half empty bullshit pushed by some fans of this team. 3:16 says it all.

I would too.

Hell, we all know the only way Cassel can win is by running the ball more than passing it. That is a fact.

Orton can actually pass. And I believe Stanzi can too based on what little bit we saw last pre-season.

Well that is what I am hoping we see this year. I think the training wheels were on because we had an egomaniac at HC that let his success in AZ go to his head. Not just Cassel but the offense as a whole never looked good under an Offensive oriented coach. He fired an OC 2 weeks before a season started to call the game himself which the players admitted took them half the season to catch onto his system. The next year he ran off the OC that got him to the playoffs. The next year he hired a token OC so he could call the games again.

While Haley was cussing Bowe for not being in position the 3 offensive coordinators couldn't get a play into Cassel in time for shit. Haley was unorganized, stupid, scared and overly-proud and it showed. Our offense looked the same every year under Haley yet we had different OC's every year. This year is going to prove whether it was Cassel or if it was Haley.

I didn't realize Todd Haley was the one out there making the throws?

You aren't really making a Cassel=Palko, or even a Palko>Cassel case are you? I know Cassel hate is at a fever pitch, but that's insane. Cassel would be a very good back up QB, Palko should never have made an NFL roster.

No, he was the one calling Dex up the middle on first and 2nd down then expecting our offense to convert 3rd and long every series.

BossChief 04-17-2012 08:03 PM

Cassel is gonna have to play a stretch of games similar to mid 2010 to start the year or he is gonna lose his job prior to the bye.

Especially after another offseason with Stanzi kicking ass in camp and preseason.

Again: I never once have claimed Palko is a better QB than Cassel. Palko is a very limited QB but he does have a better pocket presence than Cassel. Go back and watch the Dolphins and Broncos games. They blitzed nearly every down and Cassel was lost. Cassel isn't a guy who can single handily win a game the 3:16 is now well documented. Jackie Battle, Dexter McClsuter, and Thomas Jones weren't going to carry Cassel to a victory against Pittsburgh. It's a dumbass argument and quite frankly I'm surprised i've spend this much time even discussing it.

Prolly won't matter.

Yeah that would require a similar schedule to 2010. I don't see that there's going to be some games where we'll need to score more than 21 points. Let the Stanzi era begin.

If he can come out and manage the game as long as our running game is intact I think we will be ok. He isn't going to sling the ball all over the field and we have to come to accept that. What I didn't like under Haley was the lack of 3 step drops. Every pass was a seven step drop and then read the defense. Or if it was a 3 stop drop or quick hitter it was always sideways. Never a slant or seem pass.

2 things would help Cassel a lot....

1. Get the plays in quick and give him time at the line

2. Call more 3 step drops so he doesn't have to go through progressions so much.

Titty Meat 04-17-2012 08:08 PM

Time at the line doesn't mean shit when the QB can't read a defense and stares down his WR's.
