No wins, no rep threads, unfortunately. Maybe we should start going the other way. LMAO

I think Lough is becoming my favorite Royal.

I think the first one to start a locker room brawl will be my favorite... It'll be the first step to the honesty this team needs to fix itself. In the pain of the honesty the wake of the fight will create will be the seeds of progress for this club to bear the fruit of winning.

It's not the fight I seek as much as the honesty it'll create. While it may not work, it can't hurt at this point.

We put too much pressure on Grienke too early.

We put too much pressure on Gordon too early.

We are doing the same with Hos and Moose.

None of these guys are getting the chance to be rookies.

I mean, FFS, Moose was batting cleanup to start the season. WHY?

Well, that's the problem with the Royals.....they don't spend the money for veteran big bats like a Pujols or Hamilton to help take pressure off of young guys....so then they have to rush prospects.....so what happens if they bust or struggle? Exactly what we have seen for the past decade. At least in the 90s they still spent money for veteran bats with pop..just had no pitching.

We haven't put too much pressure on Moose or Hos. The problem lies in the fact that:
A. They're not that good
or
B. Our system doesn't develop talent properly.
or a combination of the both.

As it's been discussed and proven time and again, great players typically hit the ground running. Even the players who are typically trotted out to debunk this statement (Gordon and, to a lesser extent, Brett) never struggled to the depths of Moose and Hos. And Brett was good in year two, and outstanding from year three forward.

Frenchy is that guy. Seriously, that's why they hang on to Frenchy, to mentor the young players. He's the "veteran big bat."

But as others have said, Yost is a problem. But Dayton Moore is the problem.

Getting yourself thrown out of the game doesn't do anything. I don't believe the players will perform any better if you get tossed. I DO believe in running out there when your player is carping at the umpire, but thats just to save your player from getting tossed. Then, go ahead and defend your player's honor for a while, and leave.

Losing your mind isn't going to cause the umps to change their mind. Like today, on that Frenchy foul ball ruled strike 3, Yost ran out there to save Frenchy, then asked the ump to check with the other umps. Apparently he wasn't 100% sure of his call, so he agreed to check. If he would have folded his arms and refused, getting yourself tossed wont do anything. Then when they reversed, Socia went out there screaming like a maniac, making himself look like a fool. What does getting tossed gain his team?

I agree with most of that BUT if Yost had gone out Friday on the called out at second and raised hell thus getting himself tossed he might've at least sent a message to this team that he's pissed and this crap is getting old.

It's infuriating they keep running him out there. If I didn't know better, I'd think the Royals were intentionally trying not to win with moves like this, ala Major League.....

Seriously, are there any winning teams in the majors with bats as weak as the Royals in the RF, 3B and 1st base positions?

DeezNutz 05-27-2013 09:31 AM

In 42 games, Baseball Reference has Frenchy rated as a -0.9 WAR player. That has to be an unprecedented pace for ineptitude.

We'll start that kind of player...

Get David glass to put $20 million more into the team and I'll care more about changing managers. Otherwise you are just polishing a turd.
