I think Lough is becoming my favorite Royal.

The only thing that can save them is.....pete

Well, that's the problem with the Royals.....they don't spend the money for veteran big bats like a Pujols or Hamilton to help take pressure off of young guys....so then they have to rush prospects.....so what happens if they bust or struggle? Exactly what we have seen for the past decade. At least in the 90s they still spent money for veteran bats with pop..just had no pitching. |
We haven't put too much pressure on Moose or Hos. The problem lies in the fact that:
A. They're not that good or B. Our system doesn't develop talent properly. or a combination of the both. As it's been discussed and proven time and again, great players typically hit the ground running. Even the players who are typically trotted out to debunk this statement (Gordon and, to a lesser extent, Brett) never struggled to the depths of Moose and Hos. And Brett was good in year two, and outstanding from year three forward. |

But as others have said, Yost is a problem. But Dayton Moore is the problem.

Seriously, are there any winning teams in the majors with bats as weak as the Royals in the RF, 3B and 1st base positions? |
In 42 games, Baseball Reference has Frenchy rated as a -0.9 WAR player. That has to be an unprecedented pace for ineptitude.

Get David glass to put $20 million more into the team and I'll care more about changing managers. Otherwise you are just polishing a turd.
