If anyone didn't get to watch Day 1 of the combine, here are my impressions. It's a three-pager, so I'm posting a link.

I thought ASJ didn't participate due to a foot injury? Amaro and Lyerla both disappointed me. Lyerla has the excuse of not playing football for an entire year, but Amaro looked unnatural as a pass catcher, he fought the ball too much for my taste.

Clarke, Tuitt, Hagemon, Ealy, Urban, and Coleman all have great length to them. 34"+ arms.

McCullers has them all beat with 36 5/8" long arms, but he is a terrible football player, IMO.

I really want to see how Khairi Fortt performs in drills.

Daaaaamn.

He only did 7 on the bench though. Does that drop him to 23?

Unofficial WR times are listed. My thoughts:

* dont want Kelvin Benjamin. He doesnt fit the chiefs offense. He is a long strider and his 1.69 ten yrd split proves that.

* this is an extremely deep group of WRs, and a deep group that would fit in Reid's offense.

He will be there at 23 I'd imagine.

I don't think the bench numbers for a wr really matter, especially in this case. He plays pretty nasty with his strength and attacks the ball well

Damn he ran a 4.31 in his second run. Brandin cooks ran a 4.3 flat.

Both have been pretty impressive in drills.

Thought Beckham, on his second run through in the gaunlet showed something, making 3 soolid catches on balls that were placed just slightly behind on his shoulder.

I think we need to start coming around in those two, especially Beckham. Looking pretty good that he's a chief

Beckham is a hands catcher too.

jonzie04 02-23-2014 09:49 AM

pretty crazy how beckham never came off the line on the gauntlet drill too.

jonzie04 02-23-2014 09:50 AM

ellington looked pretty good as well.

Mike Mayock is praising Mike Evans, but I thought he ran the guantlet at a lazy pace, making the catching of the ball easier than the other guys who seemed to do it at better pace and more energy.

Just as it was months ago... Beckham Jr... my # 1 target for the Chiefs. :)
