Interesting. He's smart and funny. I'll probably watch him over Fallon and Kimmel, but when the dust settles, Colbert will probably get an older audience and be 3rd in the ratings.

It will be interesting to see how much of 'pundit parody Colbert' is really part of his personality and how much of it will be seen in the new show.

I will miss the Colbert Report. They will probably just update/tweak it with a new Daily Show alum. Get John Oliver back or Jason Jones/Samantha Bee would be good.

Love this pick. I will probably actually watch some late night tv now. Haven't faithfully watched in years.

I dont care who replaces him as long as it's not someone from SNL

Stephen T. Colbert will be the new host.

Host of what?

Hopefully they can bring Oliver back to follow up on the Daily Show.

The Colbert Report is probably the funniest show on TV the past 4-5 years.

Direckshun 04-10-2014 12:27 PM

I wonder who he'll bring on as his sidekick?

My early vote is the hilarious Amy Sedaris. She is hilarious, goes back as early as you can go with Colbert, and can host in a giffy. She's also in the downside if her career so shed definitely take the gig.

I would also endorse Larry Wilmore or John Hodgeman for Daily Show follow-up duties.

I wonder if he will keep his current schtick, because he's a nobody without it and it will alienate most people.

If anybody has their finger on the pulse of the American entertainment industry, it's Cochise.

This sucks. The Colbert report is my favorite show.

RealSNR 04-10-2014 12:36 PM

Woah! They actually got the guy from Strangers With Candy?

CBS is amazing!

Letterman hasn't been funny in DECADES - like 2.

Colbert is a major upgrade, but I still won't watch it.

Sidekicks died with Ed McMahon. Today's sidekick is the band leader.
