I actually thought this same thing about three minutes ago and came here to see if anyone else had mentioned it.

I mentioned it weeks ago (and a few posts back) BUT both have high $$$ contracts and I don't know how that would play out in a trade.

They're going to pick where the 2012 Chiefs sat, where the next best assumed QB on most boards was Branden frickin Weeden.

The Texans are bound to bone themselves with their own arrogance when it comes to waiting for the right QB.

Who's going to be needing a QB ahead of them?

Jacksonville, Cleveland, Minnesota, and Oakland all got their QBOTF in this draft. They aren't going to bail on them after 1 season unless they have absolutely no hope in the guy that they just drafted.

Buffalo and NY are both betting on Manuel and Smith respectively. I also don't see either of those teams having a worse record than the Texans.

Titans? But if Locker plays well they might be content (doubt it).

Texans will potentially have their pick between Winston, Hundley, and Petty. If any QB goes top 5 it will be Mariota, he's Kaepernick with much better intangibles/intuition for playing the QB position. All of them are arguably better QB prospects than anyone in this recent draft.

That game was weird, I think so much so that it had a lot of rigged moments but that's another topic of discussion. BUT the Chiefs win that game had Flowers not gone down when he did. When it happened, I sad as much. :shake:

If he's used correctly, the Chiefs are better with him than without. When a corner loses a step, like Flowers, you need to find another role for him. It's been long in coming as every year he gets banged up here and there and then finally, he's not the same player and it shows at the worst times. (Dallas game for example) Use him correctly, and he's a plus. If not, he's not.

SAUTO 05-27-2014 05:55 PM

Rigged? If you think that why even watch?

Would flowers and a 6 do it for AJ?

They've already got a full stable of backups.

mcaj22 05-27-2014 06:07 PM

you dont want AJ his contract is BACKLOADED whereas Flowers is not. Taking on that AJ contract we would have no money for Houston in a year.

whoa whoa whoa! Was his rape not forceful enough for your liking?

Just think about how his name rolls off the tongue. Famous Rapist Jameis.

You know, I've heard this same thing said almost every year for the last 30 years, just with different names.

Chiefs’ tackle Eric Fisher still not cleared for full practice sessions
By RANDY COVITZ
(highlights)
Quote:

Donald Stephenson, tabbed to start at right tackle — where Fisher started for most of his rookie year in 2013 — took over the left tackle spot Tuesday. That wasn’t the only change in the first-team offensive line. Rishaw Johnson, who started the regular-season finale at San Diego at right guard last year, was in that spot, a position vacated by Geoff Schwartz and Jon Asamoah. Free-agent signee Jeff Linkenbach was at right tackle. Only center Rodney Hudson and left guard Jeff Allen were in their same positions as a year ago.

It was just the first day of the OTAs, but the Chiefs were already working on their no-huddle offense.

Free-agent signee Joe Mays took the place of Akeem Jordan at inside linebacker in the base defense; backup Frank Zombo, not first-round draft choice Dee Ford, played in the outside linebacker spot of Justin Houston, who did not report; second-year man Marcus Cooper started at left cornerback in place of Brandon Flowers, who did not report; and veteran Husain Abdullah was in the free safety spot vacated by Kendrick Lewis.

When the Chiefs went to their nickel and dime packages, second-year man Sanders Commings was the third safety; and free agent Chris Owens joined Cooper and Sean Smith as an extra cornerback.

In 11-on-11 work, Alex Smith connected on a deep corner route with tight end Anthony Fasano.

Owens made a nice interception of a pass by second-team quarterback Chase Daniel. Commings intercepted a bad throw by second-year quarterback Tyler Bray. Bray came back and hit tight end Richard Jordan for a nice gain down the middle.

LB Houston, CB Flowers absent on first day of OTAs

As milkman said, they're better QB prospects than the ones in the previous draft until they aren't.

People bitched about the QBs in 2007. "Wait until 2008."

Then 2008 supposedly sucked. "Wait until 2009."

2009 was Stafford and a bunch of cumshit. "Wait until 2010."

2010's class ended up being the worst QB class since the Courtney Brown draft. "Wait until 2011."

It's idiocy for a franchise to mess around with QB prospects and biding their time, waiting for the right QB at the right spot in the right year.

Unless you're cheap bitch Colts, that ain't happening.

RealSNR 05-27-2014 07:02 PM

Also, I'll give you some teams who might be drafting QBs:

Arizona
Tennessee
Tampa Bay
Chicago
Denver
New Orleans
New England
Dallas

In any case, it's ****ing idiocy to go into a year with Ryan Fitzpatrick as your starter. That's what the Chiefs did with Croyle and Huard.
