The Panthers should have taken the rams deal. The rams will probably be a bottom 3 team those years.

Yeah, it's impossible to get quality pass rushers late in the 1st.

Gotta just hope Clark doesn't shit himself and Karlaftis keeps coming along I guess.

You make it sound like the Chiefs are behind in the division or they have no shot of beating Buffalo.

No one is saying there aren't holes to fill, I'm just saying don't sacrifice your cap or your future talent in three years by trading for guys who will need new contracts in 2 years.

We aren't nearly as bad at pressure and sacks as people keep acting. We do blitz a lot and it would be nice to be able to do less of that but its not like we never get to the QB. Last game pressure caused the INT, a safety and a couple other sacks etc...

The badass Broncos defense has played 1 more game than us and have 5 more sacks for example.

We blitz alot because we can't get there with 4. That's not gonna hold up as well against your elite level QB's.

Why are many so insistent on trading picks for guys you then have to give top dollar to. We did it with Clark and everyone hates it now... did it with OBJ and now many don't want to pay him because he's an average LT. We do understand that giving up picks + paying a guy is a lot of capital to burn, right?

Mahomes has a SB window of 10 years. Why blow your wad for 1 year -- especially when the Bills will get worse over the next 2-3 years once they pay Allen, Von retires, Diggs is old, etc.

We need to be able to consistently pressure with 4 to beat playoff teams like the Bills. You just can't blitz him regularly and not give up big plays.

That’s because Spags has been blitzing like crazy. This team sucks with a 4 man rush. Blitzing is great in small doses or against bad QBs but not against the best.

It's especially problematic come the post-season when teams can/will specifically gameplan towards your tendencies and unleash shit they've been holding in reserve on you.

You think some team that plays us in the postseason won't have some arrow route dialed up on 3rd and 8 to kill us over the middle? Won't have hot routes in place for when Sneed blitzes?

Blitzing is fine in the regular season. In the post-season when it's win or go home and teams aren't working as much on refining THEIR stuff as they are attacking YOUR stuff, all those tricks you had to pull to get pressure in the regular season just aren't going to work as well.

There will be answers. And we aren't gonna like 'em.

Gotta figure a 'big' push is something akin to the Clark trade.

If it happens, they'd better by god be !@#$ing right.

If that move doesn't scare you, you aren't paying attention. Edge rushers that plateau early rarely find another gear. Allen just doesn't seem to be someone who's moved beyond what he was in college - a guy who beats you on physical tools rather than technique. And if the tools don't dominate, he can get lost in the game pretty easily.

He just hasn't polished up his rough edges at all. He's surprisingly green for a guy who's been in the league 3+ years now.

He'd be as exciting a pure defensive talent as we've seen on this team in a loooooong time. Maybe since DT. But the production just hasn't matched the tools. There's a non-zero chance it just never will.

I must've missed that draft compensation and probable record setting contract they gave Z'Darius.

You gotta price injury into the equation and a 1st+ for Chubb doesn't seem to be doing that.

Allen is not a natural edge rusher. He is more of a hybrid LB/DE. I was not impressed with his play against a pretty average Broncos OL. Now if you told me a guy like Montez Sweat was available, I would be on board with that.

Do you guys remember the CEH debacle?

Pretty sure they draft well in all rounds. They miss sometimes but their track record is quite good. Drafting CEH hurt this team far less than the trade for Clark.

The debacle was extending him to an enormous deal.

I'd like to ride out his contract and like juju force him into a "prove it" year next year.

I don't regret the picks we gave for him. I regret the long term deal

TribalElder 11-01-2022 01:47 PM

ROFL got had by a fake

arrowheadnation 11-01-2022 01:47 PM

Remember a few years ago when we did everything we needed to secure the Landon Collins trade....we surpassed the required number of message board posts, we had the brokest of dicks in our defensive secondary, the Giants were begging teams to move him....and then the deadline came and went....and we didn't win the Super Bowl. Course I think Landon Collins is now out of the league, but ehh whattya gonna do? We got honey badger in the off-season and won the super bowl the next year.

TribalElder 11-01-2022 01:47 PM

ROFL I totally thought that was legit

****ing fail

You think anyone we are able to get via a trade won’t ask for the same thing?

Sassy Squatch 11-01-2022 01:49 PM

Not for 4 years they won't.

But you can bet your ass Josh Allen or Brian Burns would want that money now.

Dartgod 11-01-2022 01:50 PM

Yeah I reread what I wrote. I actually meant to say trade.
