Mizzou hires haith, english thinks he is going to the nba and the royals signed suppan. What the hell is going on today?

Living out of state now I don't really keep up with the Royals nearly as much as I used to. What source/site do the Royals diehards use to keep a finger on the pulse of the minor league talent?

Thanks in advance.

One stop shopping for the team pages of each minor league club:

Suppan? Are you freakin' kidding me? He's been gassed for at least two years. Why? What's the point?

Suppon is going to be moved to the #5 role, Chen gets bumped up.

I wish we could sign Jeff King and Kevin Mcreynalds to recreate of that royals magic we had in the glory years.

Jesus, we might as well have stuck with converting farnsworth to a starter

It's all about patchworking this roster for a minimum cost. Despite the 3-1 start, we aren't competing yet.

Gary Gaetti, Dean Palmer and Jay Bell are still available.

Demonpenz 04-04-2011 11:27 AM

Gary Gaetti was the last major leaguer to wear no ear flaps

Agreed, al. The other thing that I like about Yost is how he discusses his players with the media. 100 percent has their back, even to the point of getting snarky with the medial when they offer warranted criticism/leading questions.

Is this gamesmanship? Sure. But it's what a savvy manager does.

When you guys first hired the guy in January of last year I said you'd be happy to have him (and that Hillman should be fired and replaced by him as soon as the ink on the contract dries.)

In the Hillman canned thread, I said:

He didn't get them over the hump, but he did a great job of getting those guys to believe they could win ballgames. He was instrumental in the development of Fielder, Braun and Hardy (who collased again once Yost left).

He had a couple of bad Septembers, but those teams weren't as talented as the squads they were chasing anyway. One could only hold up the house of cards for so long.

Yost is a very good manager.

That guy kicked us in the shins annually in St. Louis. He's one of the top 10 managers in baseball, IMO.
