Thanks
i work the graveyard shift so that was actually breakfast for me today...

I got a deal on those steaks, Sirloin, 2 to a pack, each pack cost 4-6 dollars... The salad was a 7 layer salad the wife made the night before.

Ah, yeah I thought it reminded me of my sister's layered salad that had peas in it. I thought peas in salad? But it was good. The name of her's was Sarah Salad. It was a creamy salad.

I'm having some brews in celebration of my little 4 day weekend.

Cheers!

You should throw some spaghetti sauce on it and some mozzarella and call it chicken parmesan.

I never thought about searing a hamburger. I usually BBQ my burgers when the temp is low. I'll have to try searing soon.

If you've got a cast iron skillet, do it there. Season with salt and pepper, preheat the pan over medium high (make sure it's good and hot), and fry for 3-4 minutes per side for medium, depending on thickness.

Hey man, I seasoned and baked that chicken myself, and don't forget the rice.

Took over an hour to slap together that poverty shit.

Don't feel bad. My former MIL, would just dump Campbell's Tomato Soup on
spaghetti, giving me a bad impression of the Mid-Westernah's culinary palette. I used to sneak out of her house when visiting, to find a restaurant. I would tell her I went for a walk. Can't have bad manners by being honest with the hostess.

I'll try it out.

Speaking of hamburgers... how do y'all like your sear? Part of the reason I usually do burgers in cast iron is because I really love a hard sear on a burger. I love a good solid crust.

I usually grill my burgers. I grill them similar to my steaks, which is very high heat close to the meat for a relatively short amount of time. I like my steaks and burgers medium. But if there's error, I prefer to err towards medium rare, in lieu of well done.

If you do really thin burgers, crank the heat a bit and cook for less time.

Don't do this with $30 hamburger. I can't have that on my conscience. ;)

Do you frequent Steak and Shake, b/c they really do the crusty thin burgers. They're practically like crispy bacon at the edges. Not my ABSOLUTE favorite version of a burger, but a nice cheap change of pace on occasion.

This is the most interesting thread on the planet. Is that an indictment against me or the Planet? LMAO

Not frequent, but I do like Steak and Shake in part because of the crispies.

This is the thread I always check first.

Grew tired of the politics quite some time ago, and it's the offseason.
