It was never Bush's fault any more than anyone else. But the CEO takes all the heat regardless. It's not going to hit 4.50, and we know where our economy's at compared to last year when we had no clue what was coming.

How much could the demand possibly have gone up? Oh, it hasn't. Production has gone down to raise prices. I understand it to a degree, but we're already trying to find our way out of ****ed forest. The timing is horrible.

Honestly, I'm not buying the crash in gas prices last fall had a whole hell of a lot to do with decreasing demand to begin with. The price in Nov was half of what it was in July, you really think worldwide demand dropped 50% in that timeframe?

Damn right it's sham.

KCChiefsMan 06-06-2009 11:44 PM

of course its a sham. This country only cares about 1 thing and thats money.

the misleading graph doesn't take into account local/state tax rates. e.g. MO pays personal property. IL lumped it into gas tax....

Heh. Nebraska is the most expensive f-ing place in the midwest for gas...but that's probably because we only have like 6 people who live here...

It seems like Nebraska took a stance last year of "Well, people are driving less, and we need that money, so gas taxes are going up again." Pieces of shit.

Yeah. For such a "conservative" state, we sho do like our gubment control and taxation of every damn thing. We just went "smoke free" thanks to the anti-smoke nazis (of course they raised the tax on cigarettes as well, just to stick it to us more). Nobody's talking about cutting budgets, so I guess we'll have to raise fuggin' taxes...

Crude seems to be stabilizing around the $70 mark. Gasoline is $2.64 and rising, but if crude stays where it is, I wouldn't expect the average to go much higher than $2.80/gallon.

Bowser 06-16-2009 12:22 PM

So what has been the gain in the last 5 weeks? .80/gallon of unleaded?

WE all knew they would experiment with the gas prices again. They know from last year that $4 is our breaking point. They want to find the acceptable point now.

Don't forget, Obama thinks this is good for us.

Crude down ~4% at $66.70 today.

BigMeatballDave 06-22-2009 12:32 PM

2.52 down 20 cents or so over the past week or so. Thats OK, theres a holiday next week, I'm sure it'll be up 30 cents by then...

Donger 07-10-2009 09:15 AM

Crude down 2.43% at $58.94
