Can anyone else not help thinking if we'd have used our bullpen aces as much as Francona does we'd have won the 2014 WS pretty easily?

I think Francona would have had no issues pulling Vargas at the first sign of trouble in Game 4.

We win Game 4 (the only game in the last two postseasons where we blew a 3 run lead), and there's no need for a Game 7.

Thankfully, I think being outmanaged by Bochy inspired Yost to be more aggressive in the 2015 postseason. Chris Young was always pulled before he made it through five, he went for the kill in Game 4 of the WS, and Wade had 3 multi inning performances, and every one was huge.

Herrera also pitched multiple multi inning games. In game 4 we blew it on offense as much as we did on defense. If I recall correctly we had the bases loaded with one out and didn't add on any runs early in the game. That was when Vargas lost track of the count and thought he walked and the team completely lost focus for a few moments.

And I don't think Cleveland can get away with pitching Miller as much as it seems they want to. The entire lineup is going to get a look at him tonight. This is a 3 run game. If Cleveland doesn't trust someone else for even one inning in this situation, when will they trust them?
