Crude now around $80/barrel. That does not bode well for next spring, IMO.

Prices seemed to go up overnight about 2 or 3 weeks ago. We're up to about 2.69 here...

Crude still hovering around $80/barrel. I wouldn't be surprised if we hit $90 to $100/barrel by spring, since I expect a demand uptick beyond normal.

It has to rise since the Feds just told Fannie and Freddie they have a blank check.

Save that argument for when gas is up to $4/gal again.

True leaders would attack this problem when it's not a problem. Prices are going to skyrocket again, and then they'll come up with patchwork solutions that really don't lower the price to ease political pressure.

They should have been proactive about this years ago to increase supply on our own front.

I'm afraid higher crude oil prices are likely here to stay. With China and other emerging markets the demand for crude oil should remain strong. I recently read an article that we're approaching peak production. With world demand so strong and significant oil discoveries so few, we could be in big trouble soon.

They wont stop until driving habits change, as long as people pay they will keep the price going...

$4 is within reach again. Once they stall this already stalled economy. They will be forced to lower the prices. Dont under estimate greed on the part of the oil companies and govt.

They won't stop until their is competition from a legit threat of electric/alternative fuel.. And still they will just cut production to keep costs high..

And driving habits have changed, but they still will cut production to keep costs up there..

Yeah like Kansas with them raising cig taxes again.. It is a bunch of BS, and I do not even smoke or live in Kansas..
