Are you kidding me? That was awesome & hilarious. He knew the rule & took advantage of it. I thought it was great.

The players just dont like being humbled. You have to pick your spots on a layout like this. These guys are used to going aggressive at pins not at the US Open.

A true test of golf is to reward a good shot & penalize a bad one. Minimize luck as much as possible. It doesnt appear this course does that. Its just the USGA wanting to make scores high because thats what fans want & have come to expect out of the US Open

I know what a true test of golf is nice lecture though.

The US Open separates the men from the mice.

My money is on Stenson today.

BWillie 06-17-2018 12:12 PM

Patrick Reed playin for keeps. Back to back? Hit it to 6 feet on the 265 yd par 3.

Also, I have to hand it to Poulter for calling out the fans. Golf isn't football. The fans at these events are getting out of control. I get embarassed by the fans at the TPC every year. Even passed up a chance to go on Sunday cause I don't want to witness that.

Stenson is cool. Hits it great, cant really putt. Sergio Garcia used to be my hero. Would always stuff it, then miss everything & 3putt. Reminds me of how I play.

Putting is dumb. Lets go to sand greens. Pick it up once you hit the green. Inside 10 feet count as 1 stroke. 10-30 feet 2 strokes. More than that 3. Golf would go by much quicker too. I mean, who actually enjoys putting? Not me.

Very true. Do you hear the golfers gripe much about The Open (the one in Britain) courses (which are tough as hell too)?

Typical golf thinking. I think what they did at I think TPC on Arizona with all the stadium seating & such on 16 or 17 is a great thing for the game. Its ONE hole. One hole like that is fine and it gives some spectators a chance to come out.

I wouldn't even go to the British Open if I was a pro. Id protest. I think some guys have done that before. Unbearable conditions when the wind is blowing.

I would, but golfing in Kansas prepares you for wind...ask Tom Watson, he did pretty well there. :D

USGA folded it appears. Looks like there is a 63 or 64 out there.

banecat 06-17-2018 12:42 PM

I never thought that I'd say this, but golf's actually not bad. I've been watching more of it. I'm debating taking it up eventually

Except his playing partner Andrew Johnston said Phil told him right after it happened that he had no idea what it meant.

Phil was lying to the media afterwards to make himself look like less of a clown (it didn't work).

Fleetwood might shoot 62. Yeah, they went way too far in easing this up. LMAO
