Bray is Lynch.

TribalElder 04-28-2016 09:45 PM

We didn't have enough money to sign a first rounder

To move up into the first costs a 3rd round pick. Always has and always will. If the team isn't willing to give up that 3rd, then don't make the trade.

I could see us giving back like a 6th or a 5th in return to get that 3rd, but it was pretty crucial that we did SOMETHING. Dorsey took the 4th instead because his board got rocked.

****ing awful. I don't mind trading down IF we got a good deal. We didn't get a good deal. We didn't get shit.

So you stand still and pick some guy you either A) don't want or B) can get five picks later out of what? Some bizarre sense of dogmatic nonsense?

Good news is that the DBs and WRs are gone.

But what do I know, seem to be a lot of people in here pretty excited about this Alexander guy who's 5'10.

Sassy Squatch 04-28-2016 09:46 PM

Welp, if theres one thing to take solace in Lynch will probably suck just because so many here were apeshit over him. It's happened to Sanchez, Smith, Manziel and that's just recently.

bigjosh 04-28-2016 09:47 PM

I didnt say they were. I am not implying anything i just thought it was funny.

The trade down confirms what I said an hour ago - dude sat there whIle his board got massacred. Now he gets his top asset with a year less of team control amd all he got was a pick that's statistically marginally more value than....nothing. literally nothing. A 4th round pick is barely more likely to contribute that simply signing 10 UDFAs and allocating that roster spot to the guy that shows the best.

I don't need to wait for anything to play out; dude put himself in check mate. He could draft Jack with that 2nd and the better move would have been to eschew the two largely worthless picks and get the guy in the first with the 5th yr option.

It was ****ing dumb - full stop.

I agree. The Chiefs needed a few quality players not a bunch of depth. Dorsey didn't get shit in return.

DJ's left nut 04-28-2016 09:48 PM

Eh **** it.

Spent the day diving reefs, sitting on a balcony smoking Cuban cohibas and drinking johnny walker in Cancun. I'm going back to that.

Dorsey ****ed up - period. The stats on his 'return' don't lie over large numbers (which is all that matters as he has no goddamn idea who will be there in the 4th); a 4th simply has extremely nominal value. And the value of the 5th year of control is absolutely tangible value that's been set ablaze. This is purely objective, folks. No editorial license required and no player projections needed.

The players picked simply do not matter; it would be, at best, salvaging a horrific misfire.
