I like the Cubs chances vs every pitcher but Kluber and I still feel like Kluber will end up like Kershaw last series. Think the Cubs beat him in Chicago.

The Tigers? You know, with that bullpen and all. :)

LOL

At the very least the Cubs turned their lineup over for one more shot.

I wonder how tempted Tito will be to go put Kluber on the bump for games 1-4-7 (if necessary)

Miller is basically a defacto hybrid Madbum. If the Indians can get a lead by the 5th in 2 more games, he can pitch 2-3 innings in those. If the Indians can steal another game along the way, they can win the series.

Most relievers are relievers because they are failed starters and better with limited exposure. I admit to not knowing Miller's situation. But either way the Cubs are too good to not eventually get to him if they get this many looks on him. Perhaps what the announcer said about Francona really valuing this first game is accurate so that is why he has just gone straight to Miller here.

Imagine a left handed Wade Davis that Tito is willing to go to at literally any time (5th, 6th, 7th, doesn't matter, it's whenever the leverage is at its highest). Miller has been transcendental this postseason.

Lindor is my early prediction for WS MVP

I am sure some of the thinking with Miller is the time they have been off. This gets him back in the swing for the rest of the series.

This is how Tito has used him for the entire time he's had him. He sticks him against the heart of the order and when its the highest leverage moments in the game. He pitched the fifth in Game 1 of Boston, and didn't enter the ninth inning a single time in the ALCS.

I suspect his point was the focus is on the runner on 3rd, therefore he missed the guy on second. Napoli vacated his cutoff position to go cover first. If he is the cut I think Davis throws it to him. Davis hesitated a second because I think he knew he didn't have to throw it all the way home but he didn't want to just toss it to a guy ten feet in front of him just in case. Hard to know what kind of communication was going on in front of him.

Ideally he has a real cut and throws it to him. Didn't look like there was a cut for him to throw to. Personally I put it on that. I don't need my 1B going back to cover first. To be fair though, that runner was also a mile off of first.

I don't think Miller used multiple innings every game this series is going to fair well for Cleveland

Why Not? 10-25-2016 09:12 PM

Man, that dude just rules in clutch spots.

tk13 10-25-2016 09:12 PM

Miller's pitch count getting up there. But you have to leave him in to face Schwarber.

We thought that when they brought him into the 5th inning of the 1st playoff game... but they've done it so far and it's worked out.
