I don't analyze trades anymore. I dont know a fraction of what GMs do and it takes years to find out. I do think you can look at market comps tho and it seems we outspent Houston in their Kazmir deal....but we probably got a better pitcher.

The reason you can't analyze baseball trades like other sports is because one team is getting a proven usually, and the other team is getting guys who still have years to develop. It's what makes baseball great with the minor leagues and development of players. It's fascinating stuff compared to a football trade.
