but you guys gave me some serious Anti Peyton ammunition tonight. the tradeoff was well worth it.

He may not be able to control where he plays and when, but you have to admit his stats would not be nearly as high if he played in Foxboro like Brady or Lambeau like Favre. You and all the other Manning fans know it. He's still great, don't get me wrong. But not nearly as great as others.

I forgot to mention.... No one but you said this. Bearcat said that is his most recent, not most memorable or greatest. Also, is Bearcat a Colts fan?

If there's a conspiracy, it's to make it easier for the Colts and the Patriots (the two most consistently great AFC teams with the best QBs) to make the playoffs and make the NFL more money.

Are we really saying that the Colts were moved out of the AFC East because they didn't want Manning to play snow games?

id bet my bottom dollar its more than 15. how many post thanksgiving games did Favre and Brady play outdoors in the same time frame?

Qb's are going to put up bigger numbers and complete more passes under a roof than are outdoors. thats a fact.

Mannings a great QB, but I highly doubt he'd have the same numbers playing in Arrowhead.

not at all, i AM however saying that Peytons playing conditions (which I've admitted ad nauseum are out of his control) have contributed to better stats than if he had played in an Arrowwhead of Soldier Field all of his career.

I suppose im a conspiracy theorist for saying that too....

Bearcat 09-07-2011 08:16 PM

The Titans number is 4 cold weather stadiums in 6 years... .66/year (away games).

The Pats is 1.42/year over the past several years.

The Pats need to see if they can start playing in the AFC South.

No, just procrastinating.

Can you imagine how much better Brady's #'s and wins would be if they did? Holy crap! The Manning / Brady argument would never exist at all if that were the case.... not because the East has been stellar (its been as medicore as the South ) but because Brady's already fantastic #'s would be even more fantastic with 9 guaranteed indoor games a year like Manning's benefited from.

Nope. You're a conspiracy theorist for saying this...

Yeah, yeah, I know Manning apologists, Peyton doesn't control the schedule. But that's my point, whoever does makes sure Manning is NEVER put in a position to play in bad weather, EVER. And that, to me, makes him look like a giant p*ssy when compared to Favre, Brady, Bradshaw etc.. I guess it bothers me that a sure fire Hall Of Famer QB is exempt from playing in snow. Kinda like it bothers me his O Line is exempt from False Start too.

Or did you forget?

"It's all about division rivalries and fighting for a spot in the playoffs" ....the fans will eat it up. BUT!!!! The real reason is so Peyton Manning can spend his Decembers in Houston and Jacksonville.

Yeah, I'm sure the other AFC SOUTH teams play a bunch of games in NYC and Cleveland and Buffalo in Dec/Jan. :doh!:

And I guess if you want actual games, you can go all the way back to January of 2010, or wait a few months when they go to Baltimore & NE in back to back weeks in December.

Since you're bringing this up without providing a better example yourself, it now serves as yours, in addition to his, best choice as Manning's Greatest Snow Game. You've both had three plus hours to come up with something better, yet you haven't, because you can't.

Paranoid, but not wrong... at the end of the day, they've played 15 cold weather stadiums post Thanksgiving in 12 years. TWELVE YEARS!!!!!

Stupid. This hasn't got shit to do with it.

I call Manning a play off choker because it's what he is.

I don't give a **** about his stats. Think about how many times he shit himself in the post-season. He's the reason the Saints have a SB win.

It's even worse if you consider that he had every ref in the league in his ****ing pocket, and his offensive linemen were allowed to hold on every play.
