I don't see him getting fired during the season.

He's got another year of his contact.

He is.. the part about Orton starting and Cassel being let go may be a pipe dream. BUT THE REST APPLIES

What makes you think that Pioli isn't completely onboard with the old "intentional, untentional walk"? They can keep starting Palko and claim that Orton isn't ready, lose a few more games, lock up a top 5-8 pick, draft a QBOTF, cut ties with Cassel, and start Orton next year. Meanwhile, when people are asking for Haley's head... Pioli can just point at all the injuries and spout off some shit about only being one year removed from a division title...

With the healthy return of our studs, another quality draft, and a shrewd free agency.. we're going to be in pretty good shape next season.

I really hope this happens and we pick ahead of atleast miami or dc. both will most likely be going after qbs. Really dont want landry. Dude just doesnt seem like he can cut it. Oh yeah and lets just fire haley anyway and get a hc with a shit ton of experience at hc'ing

Palko is Comedy Central Channel's worst enemy.

To keep him from going to Chicago, so Palko gets his first win as a starter.

Orton today with media

The OP is wrong in all sorts of ways. What does Orton starting do for us? Possibly give us a win vs Chicago? If anyone thinks this is a playoff team with or without Orton is foolish. I would rather start Palko in a game we could actually win because I want us to not jeopardize our draft stock.

milkman 11-30-2011 05:04 PM

Can't say I really care, one way or the other.

At most, Orton is going to help this team win one more game than they win otherwise.

What does that accomplish?

FloridaMan88 11-30-2011 05:05 PM

This is great news.

It is Blow for Barkley time.

Hey if the Colts can do it, why can't we?

Because some fans here would rather win 5-6 games total and finish middle of the pack as far as draft picks go.

Then we could recommend picking a LT (the in thing every year), get pissed when the good QBs are taken before we pick.

Then get pissed because we don't give up half our draft to move up (although if we did that, they would be pissed with that).

We continue to be average at best and defend the next career back up or washed out QB that is inevitably brought in thinking if we could just get an all world O-Line he will lead us to the SB.

We will realize that yet again he can't and we will continue in our playoff futility until our core players get old or move on.

We will repeat the QB cycle and blame Pioli because of the team's playoff failures.

We will continue the endless circle of playoff mediocrity that has plagued this organization for over 40 years indefinately.

But hey, at least we started Orton against Chicago and he led us to a victory. :thumb:

Gotcha.

If he's going to get fired....it'll be after this season.

okcchief 11-30-2011 05:43 PM

Orton would have been a better choice last week with no practice. If they don't play him this week the acquisition makes zero sense. I guess that goes hand in hand with most of the stupid shit they've done. Enough already.

okcchief 11-30-2011 05:44 PM

I guess it's a good thing to keep losing but I don't understand the logic or lack there of.
