Kids wean on their own. Some do it before 2 years, some do it around 4 or 5. The majority do it sometime inbetween. I don't see why society should get a say in when we feed our children certain types of food.

I think this would benefit the child if he could just switch mothers. Instead of nibbling on his momma's tit, nibble on his friends momma's tit.

I think a woman should be able to breastfeed if the need arises. I don't like the fact that the stock answer is to go into the bathroom and nurse. Eating in a bathroom is not the most appetizing thought.

However, I do also agree with some others here that some discretion is usually all that's needed to keep people from flipping out and getting offended.

Agreed. And most toddlers who nurse are doing so at naptime, bedtime, etc. The general public can mind it's own business when I am nursing my child. Perhaps that time would be well spent telling someone to pull their pants up so their underwear doesn't show.
