Right now, however, I have to believe that the majority of "Chiefs fans" will buy any change (be it HC, QB, whatever) as sufficient to encourage them to pay the fare.

Its pretty know fact. Generally among the season ticket holder base, you will have:

10k or so are the Deb and Luzap types.
10k or so are business tickets
10k or so the total hardcore football fans aka CP posters.

You would have an average of 30k or so just on those demographics. The casual fan it what takes the 30k up to the 70k+ plus crowds. Its what Carl Peterson knew and understood well.

Its simple really especially in the midwest - make it fun, make the players envolved in the community, and win enough to put you in the hunt each year.

If Pioli hires Chip Kelly or the equivalent
If Pioli drafts Geno Smith or the equivalent
If the Chiefs start playing well

You will all be back :fire:

But this is the type of emotional reaction that might not be honest or realistic. I've been following this piece of shit organization for decades, so this isn't the type of interest that can be turned on or off like a switch.

I understand that Pioli's pomp and incompetence has been eroding passion and general interest, but any organization is far larger than one person...

Tough situation for fans.

What they do in the draft will hold a lot more weight in my eyes than if Pioli is fired or kept.

If I could chose between keeping Pioli and drafting Geno Smith with our pick OR firing Pioli and NOT choosing Geno...Id be fine with Pioli staying.

Is it possible that Clark wanted a franchise quarterback and told Pioli to tank this season to get the top pick to get one and that if he did so his job would be safe?

I know for a fact that he made it clear to Herm Edwards that he wanted the team to play the young players in 2008 in hopes of getting them experience and putting the team in position to draft a quarterback...but these two things are totally different.

Ok, you can take the tin foil hats off. That idea is silly.

About as much as, Pioli staying, Marty taking over HC with Pioli having a hard on for Barkley & Glennon.

This would probably just kill me!

This scares me looking into the future.

To think some people on this message board were actually naive enough to believe that Fat Scott WOULDN'T find a way to use the Belcher situation to save his job.

Fat Scott is pure evil.

He should've taken the decision out of Clark's hands.

I will continue to watch with a keen eye to see what moves are made. Anything less than GREAT choices for HC and QB and I'm done.

Jerm 12-30-2012 03:06 PM

I'm just curious as to what will be Clark's reasoning if indeed Pioli is retained and even given an extension...

There is literally NOTHING he can say to justify it so it'd be hilarious to watch.

I just cannot believe this guy would be that goddamn stupid...
