That'll fire em up for the flight home!

The umpire was like, "It's Chris ****ing Getz, Ned. Of course I assume he's out."

petegz28 06-02-2013 03:47 PM

fitting, we get ****ed on the last play of the game

Whether it's the ball that was called a strike (according to K-zone), or Getz being safe a first but called out, MLB won't do a thing about it.

The sport is becoming a disgrace in that way...

petegz28 06-02-2013 03:48 PM

however, I do think it's beyond time to bring replay into this game. I mean there really was no excuse for that last call.

BlackHelicopters 06-02-2013 03:49 PM

Putrid baseball

DeezNutz 06-02-2013 03:49 PM

Hud emphasizing "situational hitting."

What an embarrassment this organization is.

Royals had the bases loaded three times and couldn't generate a single run. I think the conventions of baseball calls for them to lose, especially on a day an ace pitcher in Darvish sucked bawls.

sorry, that has nothing to do with how the rules are enforced

I'm sorry Pete, but the Royals deserve zero breaks and zero benefit of the doubt.

That would not have been either of them.
Getz was safe so calling him safe would be neither a break nor benefit of doubt.

The management of this whole inning is a great example of why Ned Yost doesn't get it.

1) JC Gutierrez sucks and should never be used in a high leverage situation when Collins, Crow, Herrera, Coleman are available.

2) Tim Collins is more effective against RH hitters. Bringing him in as a lefty specialist is stupid.

3) David Murphy has hit better against lefties than against righties this season.

I honestly don't think anyone in the organization knows 2 and 3.

Mama Hip Rockets 06-02-2013 04:17 PM

Regardless of the bad call, Getz deserves to be out after an incredibly horrific at-bat. He swung at multiple pitches in the dirt and one that was about six feet high. When will they get rid of this loser?

Sure-Oz 06-02-2013 04:18 PM

Postgame was short...no Yost interview?
