Is it a good idea to spend 5 more for the "Gold" upgrade while it's on sale? (Normally $20)

It's absolutely the kind of game where, provided you're not surrounded by distractions, you can sit down and then play for five hours without looking at the clock and then go "What the ****, it's 11:00?" Good stuff, and definitely worth the $7.50.

Just clicked on the link and realized that you read almost the exact same statement already, haha.

for $2.99, the game is a steal. One of the best sandbox games ever.

Me liking Tomb Raider didn't surprise you?

Well, I actually haven't played it yet.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is on flash sale, btw

Is it bad that I am complaining to my fiance that I have to wait another 30 minutes yet for the deals to change?

The only thing I bought so far was the Civ V upgrade to the gold version for $5 and I just bought Brave New World expansion, but it wasn't on sale.

That is what I was really looking for out of the sale, Brave New World discount.
Too bad its not going to happen.

I guess it was on sale for a day to begin the steam sale, but it was a mistake I think. I didn't check in time or else I would have bought it then.

I already owned Gods and Kings, but I wanted all content, so I just paid the $5 to upgrade, and the $30 for the new expansion.

Can't wait for it to install. I know what I'm wasting my Sunday on.

Just Cause 2 was my personal game of the year, 2011.

Sleeping Dogs was my personal game of the year 2012.

I ended up buying Dishonored, Endless Space and Tomb Raider. Just started Dishonored earlier tonight. I really like it.

If you like Endless Space you should check out StarDrive, great although it's realtime.

Don't get me wrong, I think Bethesda creates an excellent open world but it's just not enough to make their games truly great. They really need to work on their character progression and loot system, but that's a dead horse beaten to a pulp.

I don't see that
I have to work and cooperates with other people at work everyday
when it comes to my me time
I just wanna go by myself and create what ever havoc I feel like that night
no raiding parties
no worries about scheduling
no personality issues
no depending on somebody else to do what they are supposed to do

that sounds way to much like real life

but then again I ain't a people person

I have this problem. I either need a shooter with fierce multiplayer or an mmo or a game like diablo with long-term multiplayer implications to keep me interested anymore.

I've been playing MMOs solo for 15 years. You don't have to do any of the raiding or PvP if you don't want to. There's always plenty to do without it, and the gameworlds are immense and always growing. Which is why, like Pants, the Bethesda games never seem to engage me all that much. It's like having the grind part of an MMO without anything else.

keg in kc 07-22-2013 08:16 AM

I went a little crazy. :D

Alan Wake
BG: EE
LA Noire
New Vegas
Skyrim
Walking Dead
Torchlight 2
XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Skyrim was I think the only thing over 5-6 bucks though.
