Hit back foot, make throw.

Not complicated.

So you are saying he doesn't trust himself to just throw the ball?

My theory is he will only gamble what he has to and we haven't been in a large deficit situation yet.

Not saying that means he can just pull a cape out of his ass but I don't think he will gamble unless it's necessary. And it hasn't been.

It's not gambling when we have guys open downfield. He needs to make those throws and not leave them on th field no matter the score.

Beat me to it.

I don't really care about ball control or top or whatever.

Score points and be productive. Our defense has shown that it can occasionally be put in bad positions and still succeed.

However, I realize that we may not have the most explosive offensive skill players, but we've seen them get open for big plays. Be it a drop, a missed block, a missed throw, etc, they need to happen when the opportunity presents itself.

It's like in baseball in the later playoff stages and why, IMO, the cards didn't beat the Red Sox. When you have to string together 3 and 4 hits to score runs, against better pitching and situational pitching, it gets really ****ing hard to do. You need guys who can hit one over the wall after a base hit or one in the gap.

We need to have more chunk yardage plays, as it's going to get tougher to string 10-12 play drives together against the upper echelon teams we will face in he playoffs. This isn't about "feel good" stories anymore or improvement from last year. We are in a position that doesn't come around very often and it's time to hold this offense to the standard of other upper echelon tams.

So far, it's not good enough. Hopefully it will get there.

Here's to seeing many, many shots of a glum faced Manning shaking his head and muttering.

LMAO you are literally passive aggressive mean Dane.

petegz28 11-17-2013 12:20 PM

to break it down on Manning...

according to http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/st...he-catch/2013/

Den has a total of 1663 yards of YAC
Manning has a total of 3249 yards passing
Manning has 369 attempts

Do the math:

3249 yards total passing
-
1663 yards of YAC
/
369 attempts
=
4.29 yards per passing attempt of actual distance the ball was thrown
