On the first sac of the day from Michael Johnson, Grubbs literally turned around as he was running past him to go help Fish.

That was infuriating. Would've been a big play if Grubbs just stayed.

It seems like these guys don't know their assignments

Which is not really even about talent.

Unless we've signed a bunch of stupid players then there is something wrong with our coaching or system. Same thing goes for lack of effort and/or commitment from the players. We have too many problems not tied to talent.

If a player can't run fast enough or isn't strong enough to make the play, that's one thing. When players don't know what to do or aren't giving full effort then there is something wrong and changes need to be made.

+3.2 overall

+4.7 pass block
-2.1 run block
+0.6 penalty

He received a positive grade against Cinci.

Fisher is one of 5 tackles in the NFL to not give up a sack or a pressure

His run blocking will come around, he's good in the running game. Getting switch to another position again probably has him off a little.

PFF has Fisher at 0 sacks allowed, 0 QB hits allowed, and 4 hurries allowed.

DaneMcCloud 10-05-2015 07:39 PM

Fisher is the least of their worries.

The guard spots are still an unmitigated disaster.

Pretty sure Bob Dole saw him whiff on a sack Sunday...

And even then it's just RG. Wtf is Andy doing pulling Grubbs from LG over to block a DE on the right side on a mother****ing pass play?

A lot of this shit is just stupid coaching putting players in a bad position.

cdcox 10-05-2015 07:45 PM

Are we really going to turn a thread about Fisher starting on game into a Fisher megathread? If this thread pops up again I swear I will turn it into an Alex Smith thread.

It all comes back to the fact that they don't have an adequate right guard or right tackle.

Stephenson can't play right tackle, no one can play right guard and Fisher is being wasted at right tackle.

It's a cluster****.

What do you mean they don't have an adequate RT?

As of right now, Fisher is our best Olineman. If he can stop with the penalties then he is more than adequate at right tackle. Fisher is a better RT than Stephenson is an LT. If Fisher didn't have a mess at RG he would probably be even better(just like when Swartz took over RG).

Looks like by the end of the season Morse is going to be our 2nd best lineman.

Grubb has been a disappointment. Stephenson is what he is, don't think he gets much better.

You know, if they just drafted Gabe Jackson, John Miller, Russell Okung, Jake Fisher and resigned Rodney Hudson like I wanted, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Just saying...
