This is so huge.
For those of you that lived through the the playoff disasters of the 70's and remember clearly Whitey Herzog publicly griping that Joe Burke was too conservative and failed to acquire a big arm or especially a RH power bat. Our biggest acquisition in a late season deal was Lonnie Smith in 1985 and that was done by John scheurholtz. Those are days gone by now. But making this trade shows how much organizational philosophy has changed. Thank goodness. |

They think its a good trade mainly cause they aquired three players for a rental pitcher. Finn and Lamb will help them out in the years to come. And they send Cueto best wishes for him in the future, they understand its a business and players come and then they go such is life. |

@jonmorosi: #Royals still working to upgrade bench. Looking at both infielders and outfielders.
|
He's in a contract year I know, but it sure would be nice to re-sign him.

Side note:
Here's my day... 1) Sleep in 2) Hear Cueto rumors 3) Go to initial meeting regarding a new job, discover it would entail at least a 30 percent raise as well as significant savings on insurance costs (5 percent responsibility on our end vs. 20 percent). Told I am clear candidate, he has plans to transition me to his role/responsibility in the next few years. 4) Get out of meeting and discover the Royals have knocked Keuchel out early and Ventura threw a gem. 5) See Cueto news and delight at the light trade cost 6) Picking up wife at airport at 5. Texts indicate sexual favors to occur this evening. So yeah, good day. |

Zobrist?

Zobrist would be an absolutely perfect addition/cherry on top.

I don't know about any of you guys and your Facebook feeds, but Brandon Finnegan getting traded isn't sitting well with the "women I went to high school with" demographic.

Hope it doesn't mean Willie Bloomquist. |
