Ideally you'd replace Colon with Prado or Zobrist.

yeah...cutty needs to be getting ab's every day so when moose leaves we got it covered

the thing is ... Ned doesn't manage our bullpen to where we need a LOOGY. He just doesn't need to when Madson, Hochevar, Herrera, Davis and Holland are all dominant against RHB and LHB

I don't think we need to waste a roster spot on a LOOGY, even though he has been very good. We can, or we can just use his spot to stack our bench even further.

I wouldn't mind acquiring a defensive whiz to be our 25th guy. Someone who can't hit, but is an excellent defensive infielder.

and they should, imo.
Keeping their few valuable guys to try and grab an unfavorable second WC spot isn't smart for them. If they do that they will be 10 games under .500 at least at this time next year.

But I just can't see their owner selling at his age.

Hootie 07-26-2015 03:25 PM

we really need to focus on keeping our guys healthy, too. This division is locked up. Days off for Moose, Hosmer, Sal, Cain are going to be very necessary.

Seems like almost everyone is saying that Detroit is fighting it all the way internally. They really don't want to be sellers.

ok you've all talked me into Zobrist

OMG this lineup

Gordon
Moose
Cain
Hosmer
Morales
Zobrist
Rios
Perez
Esky

did we break it?

That would work nicely. Personally, I'd go:

Zobrist
Moustakas
Cain
Gordon
Morales
Hosmer
Perez
Rios
Escobar

But either way, you're quibbling.

Hootie 07-26-2015 03:26 PM

Zobrist makes too much sense now that I look at it. We have to get him. Hopefully the A's don't hate us too much. I could see Beane not trading with us out of spite.

Agony from within. Pain deep inside of the core of the enemy.

The Tigers are dying a slow, painful death from inside-out.

Hootie 07-26-2015 03:28 PM

Meh. Prado might not be realistic. He's on the books for $11M this year and $11M next year. We could probably get him super cheap but then we're paying $19M for Prado/Infante in 2016.

Valiant 07-26-2015 03:30 PM

Yikes, if we cannot get Price also, I do not want him traded at all.

The Yankees are picking up $3 million of prado' deal.
