SVP just said that Missouri plays the "beautiful game - basketball edition" on sportscenter.

I like that... Basketball Bonita

Not in the least. Anytime a major college program gets called for only 6 personal fouls in a game, it is absolutely ****ing amazing. That just doesn't happen at the D-1 level. Show me another game this year where a top 25 team only has 6 team PFs this year.

I have been a coach of youth basketball, and if my team ended with 6 total fouls, I would've have been asking some pretty serious questions about their level of effort and aggression. Every player gets 5 fouls. If you're only playing 8 players deep, that's still 40 fouls to give in a game. You can go up to 32 fouls and still not lose a player.

6 fouls?

Wow.

Holy shit, you're serious. That's just... amazing. Did you watch the game?

stonedstooge 02-15-2012 10:32 PM

Really I maybe only saw 2 or 3 calls that may have been made that weren't. But just didn't see much else that was missed

KcMizzou 02-15-2012 10:37 PM

I know Braincase is a respected poster around here (for whatever that's worth), but this is just plain old stupid.

The guy puts the hurt in "butthurt".

Mizzou's "effort and aggression" was pretty damn good. Try watching the damn games instead of waiting for kenpom to tell you how to think.

Mizzou was only up by 30 at one point.....just think if they put forth more effort and aggression...we coulda won by 100!

Are you suggesting that MU should foul more? Is there a certain number they should get per game?

-King- 02-15-2012 10:58 PM

Someone tweet English, Denmon, and Dixon and tell them that they're not fouling enough!

Frazod 02-15-2012 11:00 PM

What the **** is a "kenpom"? Sounds gay.

FYP... He's (a KU fan) suggesting that Mizzou got some serious home cookin' in order to win this game.

This game that we could easily have won by 40, if we wanted to.

They don't care.

Tonight was my first time in the student section; good time. I can't help but roll my eyes at Braincase; MU absolutely came out aggressive. They were hard into the passing lanes, diving on loose balls and challenging the hell out of the interior. Mizzou came to send a message tonight and with a 35 point lead with 5 minutes left, I'm gonna go ahead and say the message was sent.

The fouls were low overall because the refs were really letting them bang down low. Oh, that and the fact that Missouri actually has the speed to keep their feet under them and their man in front of them. Not to mention the skill to actually hit the ball, as opposed to just going out there and mauling like K-State; insanely quick hands tonight.

In closing: Braincase is a ****ing idiot.
