Report: Plax will choose Steelers or Giants
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports free agent Plaxico Burress is expected to decide between the Giants and Steelers. One report from a month ago suggested Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers' coaches were more interested in Plax than the front office and ownership were. Burress will meet with Giants coach Tom Coughlin Friday night, then fly to Pittsburgh to visit coach Mike Tomlin. The Giants have reportedly discussed a two-year, $10.5 million contract with 60 percent in salary and bonuses and the remainder in incentives |

Citing multiple sources, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that trade talks between the Cardinals and Eagles remain ongoing, and Kevin Kolb is still expected to be sent to Arizona "by the end of the week."
Multiple reports emerged earlier in the afternoon that talks had progressed, so Schefter is just beginning to put icing on the cake before the deal's consummation. Schefter confirms that the Eagles will receive Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, "and a draft pick" (the level remains unclear). The Eagles' website, in fact, has already begun selling Rodgers-Cromartie jerseys |

According to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, the Dolphins have emerged as the favorites to land free agent Ahmad Bradshaw.
"I've been hearing a lot of momentum about Bradshaw to Miami," reported La Canfora Wednesday afternoon. DeAngelo Williams just knocked it out of the park with a ridiculous contract from the Panthers, and Bradshaw should be able to come pretty close. The Fins are being highly aggressive today, targeting their new feature back and new starting quarterback (likely Kyle Orton). |
The National Football Post reports that inside linebacker Bart Scott has agreed to terms with the Jets on a multi-year contract.
NFL.com's Adam Schefter says the deal is expected to be signed later Friday for roughly $8 million a year. Scott, like new teammate Calvin Pace, is highly versatile and intelligent. The Jets have the makings of a great linebacker group, and Rex Ryan will know how to maximize Scott's talent after coaching him for years in Baltimore. This signing makes a lot more sense for New York than getting the downside of Ray Lewis' career. The Ravens have to be deeply disappointed, but they seem likely to increase their efforts to sign Lewis now. |
