In today's NFL, a good case could be made that coverage safeties and more specifically coverage safeties that cause turnovers are the second most important aspect to a good defense.
If we could get Berry and Byrd under contract for a combined 13 million per year, they should be happy they got such a bargain. |

If we're going to have any shot next year we need to fix the secondary... |
I wonder what they'd take for him.

If we're reportedly under around $12 million right now.....then we'd have the room to tag Albert at $11m and trade him to the Dolphins. They get the LT that they want without having to fight in FA for him. We get Jordan who can sit behind Houston and Hali for a year.
Now watch....the Eagles will trade for him. |

Before Houston and Hali got hurt against SD, every team we faced (Including SD up to that point in the game...minute left in the first half only having scored 3 points) was taking the deeper drops and passes out of their game plan when they faced us and that let our secondary flourish because they could focus on stopping a shorter list of routes. They were getting there fast enough that it masked the fact that our safeties were a dumpster fire. When those 2 are healthy next year, they will break records if we have a guy like Byrd at single high safety taking away the deep ball and making teams pay when they try to attack us with 5 and 7 step drops trying to throw deep. |

He is still on a guaranteed deal worth 5/yr. I think we can get a proven guy for that much. |

No team in the league is going to believe we're willing to keep him. Jordan will get a higher trade offer than Albert... |

I'm not sure, tbh.
