The Seahawks close their draft out with Travis Ivey DT Maryland
The Colts close out their draft with Thomas Welch OT Vanderbilt |
Dan Koppen isn't getting any younger, and the Pats can always use bodies to fill their interior line, which is aging in dog years.
The New England Patriots select Joe Hawley, C, UNLV The Pats still need a Ted backer to pair with Mayo. This dude may just be a career STer, but he could give you spot duty. The New England Patriots select Nathan Triplett, ILB, Minnesota |
The one position for the Panthers I wanted to address in this draft that I didn't is defensive line. It just never seemed like the value matched where my pick was. Anyway, we'll add some depth here and see if the kid can make the team. He had great production in college, was a first team all-ACC player with 77 tackles, 10.5 TFL and six sacks as a senior, but is a bit undersized at 6'2", 290. Could be a penetrating undertackle though. The Panthers select Nate Collins, DT, Virginia.

Drafts for the Panthers and Bengals are wrapped up, and here's what we ended up with:
Bengals 1. Mike Iupati, G, Idaho 2. Reshad Jones, S, Georgia 3. Dexter McCluster, WR/RB, Mississippi 4. D'Anthony Smith, DT, Louisiana Tech 4. Ed Dickson, TE, Oregon 5. Brandon Lang, DE, Troy 6. Dezmon Briscoe, WR, Kansas 7. Leigh Tiffin, K, Alabama Wish the comp picks would have come out a little sooner. That other 3rd for the Bengals would have been nice. Panthers 2. Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech 3. Austen Lane, DE, Murray State 4. Rennie Curran, OLB, Georgia 6. Jarrett Brown, QB, West Virginia 6. Blair White, WR, Michigan State 6. Brandon Banks, KR, Kansas State 7. Jeff Byers, C/OG, USC 7. Nate Collins, DT, Virginia |
Dude....I wish the Eagles would have made all of those trades before this thing started.
I would have went from: 1st 2nd 3rd 3rd 4th 4th 6th 7th 7th to: 1st 2nd 2nd 3rd 3rd 4th 4th 5th 6th 7th 7th |
The Patriots finish up with a small school sleeper at another weak position. This guy has the size to be a good blocking TE, but he also has some receiving chops, hauling in 51 passes for almost 600 yards and 13 TDs his senior year.
The New England Patriots select, Nathan Overbay, TE, Eastern Washington |
SNR wants me to make his pick for him.
The Raiders select Jeromy Miles, FS, UMass |
My Patriots draft is finished
1. Bruce Campbell, OT 2. Ghee. CB 2. Wooton, DE 2. Sapp, OLB 4. Blount, RB 6. Basped, OLB 6. Weston, NT 7. Stephen Williams, WR 7. Matt Dodge, P 7. Joe Hawley, C 7. Nathan Triplett, ILB 7. Nathan Overbay, TE |
Here are my picks for OTW:
Chiefs 5: Lindsey Witten, OLB 5: Jay Ross, NT Texans: 5: Roderick Muckelroy, OLB 6: Armanti Edwards, WR 6: Deji Karim, RB 7: Jamar Wall, CB |
Miami Dolphins select Drew Davis, OT, Alabama

First off wanted to say thanks to OnTheWarpath and Mecca for making this happen every year. Feel like this was one of the best mocks we've ever had and I'm already looking forward to next year. Anyway, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Colin Peek, TE, Alabama

Anyone interested in running back through the 1st and possibly 2nd round with the knowledge of trades and signings?
You gotta think things are going to change early with the McNabb trade. Who's game? We can start on Monday. |
