Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said he likes his current roster, and as a result will look to take the best available athletes in the NFL Draft rather than draft based on need. "We've put ourselves in position, with the needs we filled, that when we go into the draft, we can look at the best athlete available and the guy we think can help our team the most," Crennel said. The Kansas City Chiefs have looked on the open market for help at nose tackle, and might attempt to re-sign free-agent DL Kelly Gregg (Chiefs), who started in 2011. They have DLs Amon Gordon and Jerrell Powe returning from last season's roster. Gordon started 16 games last season, but the team values him more for his versatility than his ability to handle the nose on an every-down basis.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said Tuesday, March 27, that the team might attempt to re-sign free-agent DL Kelly Gregg (Chiefs). "I'm not ruling Kelly out. I think he would like to come back and play. I think he likes the situation. He understands how we coach. He know what defense we're doing to run," Crennel said. "I think if he has the opportunity he would not be opposed to coming back."
