If Clark and Pioli can't even get a visit, that reflects how the elite view our franchise.

I have officially given up on Manning. Lets pray we get Orton although I believe Pioli will never threaten Cassel's job with anything.
Perhaps Pioli's definition of competition is spreading rumors that we could have some interest in Manning. What is even sad is that, an interest from a player such as Manning is an indication that the team he could be targeting has good FO. He wouldn't risk the last three years of his career with an egomaniac. Take it or leave it, Manning not even acknowledging us is a sign that he wants nothing to do with Hunt and bundle of sticksioli. Everyone knows it. Us not having a better qb just causes alot of, another damned year without a play off win. |
I'm not going to start a new thread with this article, so here goes:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...eyton-manning/ It ends like this: Unless the Chiefs under Pioli suddenly have changed their ways, the publicly-acknowledged interest in Manning likely is part of a plan that doesn’t play out with Peyton playing more than once per year at Arrowhead Stadium. |

In either case, it is disastrous. If he ignored our interest then it is the biggest "**** this FO" call we've seen. If we didn't try to court him with all of this cap money and talent then it is beyond belief how Pioli is invested in Cassel. Posted via Mobile Device |

You want to keep Cassel as the starter? Fine. That is you overstepping your bounds as a gm and not a head coach and thats your right...but if you make a gamble and it fails, you lose. In this game, the stakes are your job. Peyton Manning should have NO REASON to not want to make coming to KC a PRIORITY. |

Chiefs fans in '09: PIOLI!!!! (with tremendous excitement) Now in '12: Peyton, why didn't you have interest in KC? "Pioli." Potentially ironic. |

Here's how I look at it.
If we bring Manning in for a visit and he signs elsewhere, I'm ok with that. Kinda how I would be ok with drafting a first round quarterback that busts. Same as how I make decisions with my son. "If you don't make it, that's ok...I just want you to TRY YOUR BEST." I would actually feel good about something like this: Bring in Peyton for a visit and he signs elsewhere because he sees it as a better fit. We sign Brandon Carr, Soliai and Kyle Orton to long term contracts....well for Kyle, that means 3 years. That would mean we tried and didn't sign him, but still wanted to do our best to go into win now mode. I am not interested in hearing how "we wouldn't have a place for Carr". Blah blah blah Routt goes to safety and is a quality player there in coverage and gives us a good insurance policy in case of injury. Signing Orton is still a sign they are serious about an "aggressive competition" and Soliai would be a good signing. |
I wouldn't be OK with a visit and nothing, barring extenuating medical reasons not to sign him.
We have nothing at QB, and thus this team has no chance of winning a SB; this shit has to change because it's ****ing beyond pointless at this stage. |
