In the end I can live with flowers routt as long as we have depth and lock up bowe. Neither of those things have happened yet so for that reason losing Carr bothers me.

Stanford Routt signed with KC almost 2 months before Carr became a FA. Maybe KC assured him they wouldn't re-sign Carr, but the fact is he joined the team as a 3rd CB.
Routt's contract is also very team friendly if he's released after the first year.
The team could have inked Bowe, then tagged Carr and had a 1 year, 3 way competition for two CB spots.
It would have been an expensive secondary for that year, but also a very deep one. In fact, Routt probably could have filled the FS spot too if necessary.
Not saying its what they SHOULD have done. Just saying that its hardly beyond reason to see both Carr and Routt on this team in 2012.
